SHARK, for the most part Crain, Sale, and Santos have been ok. Thornton has been awful.

Thank Juan Pierre for last night...

SHARK...Thornton's slider isn't breaking. It's the same pitch that the previously .086 hitting Dan Johnson put one into the bullpen Friday night. He's out there with one pitch, and that isn't going to cut it. That's why he's getting hit as hard as he is.

Except for the fact that Thornton has always been a one-pitch pitcher.

I think the problem is in his head. Some guys just don't have the sack for it.

The lineup is in for tonight's second of three. You will notice a big bat back in the lineup with 2 regulars sitting...I don't like the following lineup, folks.

1 Juan "You Should be Sitting!" Pierre LF
11 Omar "Number #5 is Available" Vizquel 2B
32 Adam "Are You OK?" Dunn DH
14 Paul "Another Hit Last Night" Konerko 1B
20 Carlos "Two K's" Quentin RF
51 Alex "Why Am I 6th?" Rios CF
12 A.J. "Can't Throw Anyone Out" Pierzynski C
10 Alexei "Play of the Day on CSN" Ramirez SS
23 Mark "He Sucks At" Teahen 3B

Edwin "Top That, Buehrle!" Jackson goes to the bump for the White Sox tonight vs. Trevor Cahill of the A's.

Let's stop blaming Pierre and the bullpen. That one was on the offense.

Thanks for the nicknames, SHARKY. It's a good night to give Beckham and Morel a rest against Trevor Cahill and that 16 lb bowling ball sinker of his. Glad to see the Donkey back.

With that lineup, I'm only expecting to see AJ and Dunn in the lineup tomorrow. Maybe we will get the Frodo experience in LF.

No it was on Pierre and the bullpen. The Sox had a lead in the ninth and lost because a LF can't catch and a closer can't close.

If the defense and bullpen allow only 2 runs in 10 innings and you lose, they didn't cost you the game.

They did if they let up the run in the ninth with a one run lead.

Wow.

At least Hawk acknowledged his "best defense in 25 years" comment from spring training.

Sergio Santos with 2 strong innings. Praise be to Yevon someone can pitch in the bullpen.

Thornton in the seventh, Santos/Crain in the eighth, Sale in the ninth.

Oh and no Pierre in the ninth.

A chimp or a dog with a fishing net. Couldn't do any worse.

A 1941 version of Mickey Owen.

A wins a win. Nice to see Alexei redeem himself and Santos and Sale throwing the hell out of the ball. Johnny Danks needs to step up today and win this series.

He will.

What needs to be stepped up is the defense. And when the Sox have a 1 or 2 run lead in the 7th inning, the goddam bullpen needs to make that hold up for the W. No more of the extra inning shit.
