I'm not so sure. Morel and Beckham could be long-term fixtures at 2nd and 3rd. Ramirez is gone after this season. Surely the Cubs would miss Marmol, but 25 million buys a great closer in the offseason and the Cubs are going nowhere in 2011. The deal would be impossible for the Sox though. It would mean assuming the considerable salaries of Ramirez and Marmol for the remainder of 2011, as well as forking over 25 million. That effectively would raise the payroll by about 35 million. Never gonna happen good kid.

I have been all for this type of trade for quite some time now.

However!

Need to add Soriano in the deal, That and Z's next year of his deal. That's close to $40 Mill next year just for the 2 of them.

Then you owe Soriano another $36 M after that!

So I would rather not pay $76 mill, than get $25!
