So it is a song about really tall trees? Best statement I heard about Rush is that they are like Zeppelin but without the good songs.
Oh and I get the whole "deep concept" thing, but they are supposed to be a rock band, so just rock the fuck out will you?!?! Maybe if they got laid/drunk/high they would write some good songs and not metaphors for dungeons and dragons. And I kind of like them in small doses.

No, there's interest in discussing the seminal prog-rock band Rush.

Which happened on the show.

That's what's called "moving the meters" in the biz.

Disagree, I think a discussion about Rush would have broken out either way. Mac's old man asshatery had little to do with it.

You may be right. Rush discussions randomly breaking out happens quite frequently.

Bicardi at the Park was pretty crowded by around 11:30 or so.

Prices weren't awful...food was good. The place is pretty nice, though.

Actually TBone, the self titled album actually did get quite a bit of praise from the critics. It just didn't do very well on the charts for whatever reason. It may have placed higher than Riot Act, but i think RA actually has outsold the self titled '06 album so far.

Hmmm, I didn't realize that. Riot Act was kind of a turd for those guys but I still bought it
and listen to it occasionally. I thought the Pearl Jam album was pretty good just didn't think
it got much attention or radio play. I probably wouldn't know since my radio is stuck on AM.
With a majority of the fans growing older they probably just don't pay attention as much
any more.

Pearl Jam was pretty good...I enjoyed Backspacer a lot. Riot Act is meh. I've found myself going back to Binural and No Code a lot lately.

Can't beat the free food that we managed to stumble across. Ranger has a way of attracting women and food. 8)

I have very similar opinions on both Rush and Pearl Jam. I love some songs from both band and also cannot stand some of the songs from both bands. Hard to listen to an entire album of either of the bands, except for maybe "Moving Pictures" by Rush and "vs" by PJ.

I was a huge Rush head in my yute. I still have 2112, A Farewell To Kings, and Hemispheres on vinyl, plus old cassettes of All The Worlds A Stage and Fly By Night. I was into them up to about Power Windows, then Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, and Maiden hit my brain. I still listen to them from time to time, and Exit Stage Left is one of the best live albums ever.
