The only nice thing about Bulletstorm is that I got early access to the Gears 3 Beta. Next week, the preorders will get Beta access. Beta "testers" get some access to content (e.g., cool looking guns). Not sure that is enough to spend a bunch on a shitty Bulletstorm game.

Here's my observations:
- Gameplay is much improved over Gears 2... and even better than Gears 1. The new guns help balance what has been essentially a shotgun fest.
- Only 2 maps in the beta, but they look pretty. Way too small, though. One thing Epic does is create very "fair" maps that don't necessarily provide undue advantage to one side versus another.
- Epic promised dedicated servers to protect from the dreaded "host advantage", but the Beta isn't on dedicated servers. What gives? Matching has been slow. If they don't get this right, Gears 3 could be as disappointing as Gears 2... and that was pretty disappointing.

Make sure you have the latest update for the beta...based on the tweets of a few people at Epic, dedicated servers are there but if you aren't running with the latest update you won't get to play on them...

Gears and Gears 2 co-op was great. I really liked both of them. Multiplayer was bad but so was any other FPS compared to CoD.

I actually loved Gears 1 Multiplayer. I liked the small groups. Seemed much more social than other FPS that have a million people in the game. Back then, it seemed like people actually talked to each other.
