But...I mean...it's a couple days. Not the end of the world. At worst, you'll not be able to nerd it up on a Thursday night, Friday night, or Saturday night...arguably the 3 nights you should be least likely to want to nerd up.

Keep in mind that those most upset about not being able to nerd it up on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday also live in their parents' basements.

Lipid doesn't live in his parents basement.

Plus, I don't pick on the gaming aspect...I pick on his love of the Eagles.

I've never noticed the network being down. Granted, I'm not on 24/7, but anytime I want to play...it works. Of course, there's the occassionally shitty connection for a random game. But I can just leave that game before it really starts and jump in a new one. On a side note / PSA... a $5 Thai hooker is also a small Thai boy.

I hope they don't steal my fake identity that lives in Oregon so I don't have to pay tax on PSN purchases.

So more than a week after the plug was pulled, Sony still doesn't seem to get it...this is a PR disaster that is going to make people forget about the RRoD. It'd be one thing if they were upfront immediately and told people exactly what was going on, but we still have no idea if credit card numbers have been exposed (Sony initially said it was possible...then they said they didn't think so...then people started claiming to have lists of 2.2 million credit card numbers for sale).

However, all this alone and I probably still wouldn't have posted. But then I get an e-mail this morning from The Playstation Network.

Playstation 3 News!

Portal 2 is out. Play co-op online!
Mortal Kombat. Play online!
Free Downloadable Content on select packages of Schick products!
Download the latest 3D demos from the Playstation store!
Assassin's Creed $10,000 Online Challenge! Only on Playstation 3!!!

If it weren't for the fact that people have been exposed to a serious identity theft risk because of this whole shitstorm, the above would be downright comical. Instead, it shows just how far the people at Sony have their heads shoved up their asses. Oh, we don't know when we will get the network back online because we're still trying to make it secure and shit, but here's a bunch of the stuff you could be doing right now if it was up and running!

Just read this...Kaz is going to give us an update tomorrow:

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2011/04/30/kaz-addresses-psn.aspx

So they know something...how about telling us right now instead of waiting for a press conference tomorrow? This is part of the problem...not sharing what they know, when they know it.

Can somebody give me a update on this? I will be totally honest and say I don't completely understand what has gone on, other than they have been hacked. Lipid, MUD anybody?? My son has the system and I really don't ever play it. He hooked it up and I know he was online, but that is the extent of it. Thanks in advance for your help.

I say we need to steal each other's identities since we're getting 1 million dollars in ID theft insurance for a year.

Sony needs to update and test their new security measures before they can bring the system back up. They need to make sure the hackers have not left a backdoor...which happens in most hacking scenarios.

Thanks, what information can they get. I know there is no credit card information or anything like that on there? Thanks for your help with this.

The yearly fee for xbox live doesn't seem so bad now.
