Just a guess, but I do not think posting the emails of CBS Radio brass is going to help lighten up the Score's adversarial position on the existence of this board.

Anthony - It's all public record for a publicly traded company, there's no personal emails. It's no different than giving out the mailing address: 455 N. Cityfront, or the office switchboard: 312-245-6000. Ciao.

So these addresses are only for them to, what, place their lunch orders at carry-out places that accept e-mails? God forbid that we, the lowly listeners who, by the way, make their jobs possible, might actually deign to contact one of these high and mighty priests of mass communication at their sacred e-mail addresses.

Hey guys, I am all for fighting the food fight, and hopefully all this to-do will lead to a positive change of somekind. My point is that the Score already seems to hate the existence of this board and everyone who posts here, and I think if the guy who runs the station (by that I mean North, of course) is willing to go to war with someone here, it would not suprise me if the people who take orders from him (Mitch & Drew) follow in kind.

All I mean is that the station, as a whole, does not seem to embrace the board like some of the guys at 1000 do. Obviously, MJH get a lot of love here and they return it on air by mentioning the board and it's members on the air, and even adapted the popular "Ask Mac" threads to become a live segment on the show.

The overwhelming majority of Score talk on here is critical and "negative," which may be why this sort of incident has gotten so insanely ridiculous.

<soapbox>

I have not been a Score listener or a member of this board long enough to determine which is the chicken and which is the egg. All I know is that, despite the fact that the two entities cannot seem to get along at all, I support both WSCR and score670.com. I listen to the station every day and post here everyday.

I do not know the laws about slander and libel. I also do not know the whole backstory of this, because I do not listen to North under any cirumstance, and I do not monitor the section of his forum devoted to his show very closely.

I have listened to more than enough Pappy in my life, though. Not just on the radio, but at work, in stores, on the street and in bars. Pappy is the stereotypical embodyment of the macho biggot whom I try to avoid everyday of my life. I have no interest in what these people have to say. The only reason I harbor any extra resentment or distaste for Mike North is because he does not just speak from a bar stool, but has 50,000 watts of broadcast power to spew his ignorant thoughts and beliefs.

In my experience, the only way to deal with people like Mike North is to just completely ignore them and not get rankled by their comments. While he is entitled to his opinion and completely free to state it, you have to understand that the main reason he says such stupid things is exactly to garner a reaction like this. It is a type of "shock radio" where he intentionally crosses the line and pushes the envelope. Half of the listeners will agree with him and love it but half of the listeners will disagree and fight him on it, and it is that 50% who sign his paycheck for him.

While I agree with the people who want to put an end to his discussion of race relations, sexuality, politics and anything other than sports, I just do not think the way to do it is by fighting. It is bear-baiting. He has the advantage, as he has made a living being "controversial" and he is willing to go much farther than he needs to to prove his point, whereas most of the people here have much more at stake. Not only would the financial aspect take a much greater toll, but as TS mentioned, his daily life and the well being of his family is more important than proving his point. People like North get off on being right. It is machismo.

The day North stops making people angry is the day someone at the station might have the nuts to tell him to ditch all the political crap and go back to talking about sports.

Have you ever noticed his little dramas are never sports related? Noone ever gets this hung up on his equally moronic stance about Kyle Orton.

</soapbox>

I know that, but on the whole - we know that the major on-air personalities do not seem to like this board. I know we have had a handful of Score producers and fill-in hosts who post here, but Bernstein has bashed messageboards for a long time, and this North thing is not exactly a peace-offering either.

I guess the reason it seems like the Score "disapproves" is because of how open Mac is with us.

I don't know. I guess this is the only way to sum this whole mess up.

:lol:

SFA. I think you may be onto something with your thoughts regarding the animosity towards the message boards from Score hosts (drinky the exception).

Drinky and Rock both post a bit. I know Producer Cy has posted once or twice and I am sure there are others who have posted that I am forgetting/don't know about. We know that they are aware of the existence of the board and I am sure some of them at least lurk.

I guess I cannot figure out if they honestly object to it or if it just seems that way because of the openness of those who do post here.

I have always been a fan of messageboards. I think it is a useful way to communicate. Of course, not everyone shares that opinion, and that is fine. I just wish those who "disapprove" would give a reason or explain why. I guess the fact that most of the Score hosts probably have read this board but seem to make it a point to not mention it on air is what leads me to believe they dislike it.

well....there aren't many "glowing" threads for the score shows, either....
