Quade don't give a fuck. He has given me the impression that he will sit those guys in a second. Byrd by the way is fine. He isn't a 3 hole hitter or a center fielder, but he is fine in right and in the 6 hole. Fuk would go to the bench without hesitation if Jackson were called up. If Jackson is up he is playing everyday without a question.

What do you do with Colvin, despite his troubles? Send him down? He can work that out with a regular spot in the majors. One thing we're not used to as Cub fans. When a guy shows the least bit of major league stardom in the minors, you don't call him up. A major league block can be a good thing. There are guys in great organizations that have been ready for two years. Let everyone develop the right way, not the old Cub way.

I guess I'm just excited that there is legit minor league talent and can not wait for it to replace the shit on the major league team.

That's one thing we can all agree on for sure, "The Old Cub Way" blows.

Yes indeed it does.

Jackson back leading off for the Smokies tonight. A pedestrian 1-5 tonight. Vitters had a bomb, but it was his only hit and his average has sunk to .273

I'm for sprinkling a ML roster with some rookies. The way this season is starting to look, time to start bailing water and bring everybody up. Fire Hendry, cut or trade all his mistakes for some minor leaguers, whatever they can get.

Tradeable vets (might not get much on some):
Soto
Fukudome
Byrd
Aram
Pena
Big Z
Dempster

I would trade all of them except maybe Z.

Not sure about trading Soto. They don't really have a good young catcher coming up and you definitely do not want to see too much of Hill.

Even though I would like them to hold on to Z I think him to the Yanks may be an option and that catcher they have in their system is the goods.

Sounds like a typical Cubbie Meatball response by me,but seriously how much longer can Cub Fan's look at this shit. At least get some young guys up who have enthusiasm. This team for the most part looks as dreary as the weather. It never ends,it's always something with this club.

Whomever was pitching for Jacksonville this evening must have been dealing because Jackson and Vitters both had a Carlos Pena night at the plate. This guy with a crazy name...Rebel Riddling had a bomb though and is hitting the shit out of the ball this year.

Brandon Wood already has 2 rbi in his short pirate career. Still wish the cubs would have made a move on him...he didn't cost shit...could have easily dumped shark or someone for him as the pirates got him on the waiver wire.

The Pirates played Wood at 3B last night. With Vitters struggling (BA down to .246) he could have been an option there and it wouldn't have cost anything.

I just heard Len Kasper say Castro could be moved to 3B so maybe that's why they didn't go after Wood.

I am hoping that Fuk's hot start keeps going until mid June so we can get an actual prospect back for the 40 million we wasted on that guy

I think Wood is actually a SS who played 3rd because there were no SS openings with the Angels. He is actually supposed to be good defensively.

Brett Jackson got himself a hit to lead of the game in AA. This Flaherty cat has been on fire too. He had himself a nice 10 pitch at bat even though he ended up flying out. He is hitting .350 with 5 hrs and 18 driven in. Not bad. He can play 2b and 3b.

vitters got himself a walk too

Mcnutt on the mound today for the Smokies. 3 up 3 down in the first. He isn't on the 40 man so I doubt we see him anytime soon, but he seems to have been doing well so far this year after starting the season on the dl.

Lemahieu seems to be getting a steady diet of games at 3B now. Vitters' hitting as declined a bit...Lamahieu might be on the faster track. I know Aramis is hitting a bit this year...but I don't trust him for another serious contract.

The Cubs aren't looking to have much power on the team in a couple years...would all the Cubs fans here be content with a team that has a speedy, hit for average type guy at 3B? Chone Figgins with less speed but better defensively?

Something like:

Barney
Castro
Jackson
(free agent first baseman, Pujols? Fielder? someone else?)
Soriano
Soto
Colvin
Lamahieu
SP

Don't leave Flaherty out of the mix either. He has been flat out raking and can play 3rd too. Colvin can be a bat off the bench unless he makes some adjustments and becomes a better major league hitter. This Ja hun ha (sp?) kid in Daytona is turning heads down there. He has been hitting a ton and has a cannon of an arm and has thrown out something like 6 runners already.

I still think Colvin can play. Doubtful that he'll get an opportunity unless they find a taker for Fuk & Byrd though.

How are there six pages on Cubs minor league prospects? I didn't think the Cubs even had six minor league prospects.

Jae-Hoon Ha..........Have a night. A bomb and 4 rbi's.

That gives him 5 bombs and 21 driven in on the season. Its almost time for a trip to AA.

Does he play third base? The Smokies could have an opening there soon.

OF and a damn good one. He isn't moving positions.

Easier to move Byrd of course. They can make both go away if they eat lots of cash.
