anyways, after talking this over with my wife and friends, whether North's threats are real or not, it's just not worth it the fight and risk it poses to my family.

I'm married, with 2 kids under the age of 5 and one on way. Playing a high-stakes poker game with him is not worth jeopardizing what little I have.

I have decided to write North an apology through northtonorth.com. If he wants to read it on the air, fine...do it. i'll even send a copy of the email to those sponsors I contacted. but after i do so, I expect to be just left alone in my suburban home and listen to my ipod.

You do what you feel you need to do, but my suggestion is not to apologize.

Simply let it die and it will go away; media needs new conflicts to feed itself and its users ( us) - this will surely pass if you let it. North will use this to his advantage - much li,meb he has with every dum thing he has done.

Perhaps someone should ask him why Playboy will not bring their models on their show anymore - ask him about the Conference USA issue interviews and what he asked the DePaul girl in the limo ( that one I have on a very good, impeccable source).

How exactly did North respond. Did he just say lawsuit or that 'he would make things very bad for you'? Sounds like a pretty creepy threat, I might have called Jackie Chiles myself

Not a bad move if you ask me, TS. Doing something like that will likely allow you to wash your hands of any potential financial danger. Plus, now that you helped this thing pick up steam, let the rest of us, John Q Public, and the camera loving Jesse Jackson continue the cause. Sit back and enjoy the ride. I'm going to keep calling media people.

One thing though. Any thought of waiting a couple of days to see if the media picks this thing up? If they do, it will legitimize the story and if it's true, North can't do anything in court.

Just to set the record straight, what exactly are you apologizing for? Because you thought the word used was 'intelligence' and it was really 'talent' or what?

Ok, Mike has money, gets himself a hot shot lawyer to right his good name. Problem is that he would have to give a statement on what he said and the tapes of the bit would have to be submitted, I think thats were the Judge goes "case dismissed". I wouldnt apologize, but thats just me.

Yup, went there from 96 to 2000. The times I remember were damn good. You were a lucky man to meet wife material out there. I think you are making the wise choice. He has the resources that most of us do not have and could make this very expensive for you and your family. Good luck. This isn't a battle worth losing everything over. He'll be gone soon enough. Protect your family-that should be your only concern, not some putz like North.

I can't blame Tummy for apologizing, but I certainly don't think it is the right course of action. North will probably not follow through on his threat to sue, and even if he does, RodeoVann's wife is an attorney who has offered to represent them for free. That said, I respect Tummy's choice and wish him, Vann, and everyone else the very best.

If you ever doubt your decision, consider this:

1) The Idiot makes a lot more money than you;
2) There is nobody at the Circuit Clerk's Office screening out non-meritorious lawsuits;
3) If he decided to sue you, he would, in my opinion, lose. However, you would also certainly spend a rather large chunk of your kids' college fund on an Attorney.

He put the names on his website, how lame. Speaking of lawyers (i have no clue), can he do that, or does he need some kind of permission? Not that surprised he would do that though. I just find it hilarious/ironic for anyone in the media to cry 'misquote' or about slander (even though I saw no quotes in Tummy's email?), especially a sports radio host.
