Seriously?!?

Everyone's entitled. Still a cool way to connect with fans, no matter what band it is...

I'm not going to lie. I didn't even click on it. If they did something cool for their fans then awesome.

fantastic?

I don't know about that. It's pretty good, but it's not something I'll be cranking all summer.

Agreed

It's closer to The Colour and the Shape.

I picked it up today. IMO it's the best they've done since Color And The Shape.

but is it "fantastic" or just a good rock album?

In this day and age, a "good" rock album is rare enough to be labelled fantastic...

I've only heard the 1st 3 songs, so I don't know about the whole album, but I have high hopes.

Well I think every song is great, but I'm a huge Grohl fan, so your mileage may vary.

yeah, that's sort of my point.

the best song on the album (imo) is White Limo. Track #4.

There's so much garbage out now. So when someone makes a solid rock album, I tend to be hyperbolic. Are you a fan of Otep Doug? Their new album is pretty intense.

I'm not a fan of chick metal singers...they sound like cookie monster to me.

I tend to agree, but this band is my exception. I've liked them since I saw them open the main stage at Ozzfest in 2002.

I think they have one decent rock song. They have recorded that same song 12 times every 2 years for the past decade. There is just something missing for me. Its like they are cooking something but forgot the salt. I used to have one of their albums and it was like "it wants to rock, but something is stopping it from rocking". There is just something monotone about their entire sound to me.

I entered this contest, but my garage was too small.

Love me some Foo!!! Shoe-ins for Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame down the road.

No offense, but you have Ke$ha as your avatar. Not sure I find any credibility in your taste in music.

There may be some truth to that.

I don't hate the Foo Fighters but my sentiments are kind of along the lines of what UMN is saying. I hear something like "Best Of You" and I know it's a good song, but I can't help feeling someone else could do it better. Prince rocked it at the Super Bowl.

They're a decent rock band, but there's definitely a generic quality to them.

That basement show is fuckin' bad ass though.

I can't argue with anyone whether they "feel" a band or not. I completely respect people's opinion about music, because there's tons of shit I love that many hate and even more that others love that I hate.

I think there is a mindset in these "modern" times to be cynical and hyper critical about music, because everyone is so "educated" about everything now. There's a different bar now, because technology and playing skills have advanced so far and music has evolved to a certain extent... it just seems that it's harder to give credit to certain music because it doesn't meet our collectively raised standards

I'm with Doug.... I'm a pretty big Foo Fighters fan - it's got some very good tunes for sure. But 'fantastic' is an overstatement.

WTF is Grohl channeling Bob Dylan for? Did Dylan call and complain that he channeled Tom Petty on that greatest hits CD?

There's a lot of studio gimmicky stuff going on too.... Instruments in one speaker only. What is this Zeppelin II? ;)
