Say I went to a supermarket the other day and bought a bag of apples. The apples turned out to be worm-infested with a total of 40 worms. I take the apples back and send a letter to the store manager and to the store's corporate headquarters complaining, but I mistakenly say there were 50 worms, not 40. Next thing you know, the produce manager is all over me, saying if I don't apologize, he'll make my life miserable and so on. So I give in and apologize for my "mistake." The produce manager claims a great victory and the store and corporation do nothing to admit there was a problem. The public will never be allowed to see the evidence of the 40 worms; only that I was wrong. Furthermore, anyone like me who complains by going to the produce manager's bosses is a "rat."

Well, OK, Mr. Produce Manager, I was wrong, but you know what? YOU STILL SOLD APPLES WITH 40 WORMS IN THEM, and since you don't care and you're so arrogant about it, you'll do it again and maybe next time, the poor sap who buys them will get the count exactly right in his complaint. Then we'll see what happens.

In the meantime, would I shop in that store again? No, so by the same token, I think it's time for me to heed the advice of some on this board and just stop listening. To be honest, it was kind of funny for a while--to listen to this idiot and his shitty show and then come on here and parody him and laugh at him with you guys. Now it's ceased being fun. He's not just stupid, he's scary-stupid. I'm still a big sports fan and crave my sports news in the mornings, so time to give Mike & Mike a try, I guess.

Seems to me the Cubs' Korean pitcher would have a case against North for being called "Chinaman."

Word of advice if you really are looking for good morning listening. Get an XM radio(or I guess Sirius soon) and listen to Steve Czaban on Fox sports. He is out of washington but mostly does national stuff. It is by far the best morning drive out there for sports and I enjoy the show as much as I do MJH or B&B.

Barack Obama has worms? huh? nevermind. Good point but we all knew that already. Mike is an idiot but he paid to do so and nobody ever stops him. Management at the score are spineless and have no testes!

Not being a lawyer I will defer to experts, but I believe you are free to call anybody anything you want unless you violate FCC regulations regarding what can and cannot be said on the radio.

However, you cannot spread false information as being true. Unless your point is that he is not from China, but I don't think he is harmed by that.

That's exactly my point. Maybe Antonio Mora would have a case, too?
Not to start a long thread on this, but I don't like what I'm hearing or reading.

I'm not even talking about legalities or lawsuits. Mike seems to be on a pretty self-destructive course lately and he might say or do something, not necessarily lawsuit-worthy, that's just so egregiously wrong or offensive, possibly even directed at his own bosses, that they decide he's not worth the trouble. Anyway, it was Mike who brought up the lawsuit angle and the possible involvement of attorneys. As far as I know, the three listeners just sent letters of complaint, not threats of lawsuits. I'm not advocating that anyone here try to get in a legal battle with him. As I said elsewhere, his big mouth, big salary, and relatively small ratings will do him in one of these days.

I also am no law expert either, but I think with the invention of hate crimes and judges adding things to the constitution I'm not sure the above is true.

Yes, I listen to him quite a bit. I think this is what North was shooting for originally when they were putting his show together. They do talk quite a bit of sports, but they have bits on entertainment, talking to the truckers, technology, etc. Of course Czaban also has people on the show who have something to add to the conversation.

Unlikely - Mike invented that kind of show years ago
