Finger moving closer and closer to the panic button. This team could very well put itself out of contention if it keeps this up. It will not matter how well they play. I've been trying so hard to remain positive, but this team just gives the fucking game away. They are getting shellacked, for the second night in the row, this time by the Orioles.. who are not very good.

Wonder what Kenny is doing right now, he spoke to the media today. I am not blaming the coaching staff at all, this is all on the players.

Nope. Actually being very critical of the Sox.

Now he is getting silly and talking about how the Sox do not quit and then:

"There are many people in that dugout more confused than we are". No, I think not, they know exactly why they are not winning. Because they all apparently forgot how to play baseball. We haven't had a complete game (pitching, offense, defense) in weeks.

I gave up 2 innings ago.

Which means I lasted 2 innings longer than the Sox.

If the Sox don't, at a minimum, reach the playoffs than it's toast....as it should be. Kenny and Ozzie's heads should have Jerry's sights on them right now as should every other player on the team. If it doesn't work when they are "ALL IN BRO!" than it needs to get blowed up, sold off and restocked to start over. Kenny is really scratching the bottom of the barrel here to try and make a spark to ignite something big. He hasn't been able to do it and his time, whether warranted or not, is just about up. Same goes for Ozzie.

As you mentioned they could really be out of it come early summer and that would mean even less people filling the stands, the prospects aren't good. This is truly Kenny's creation and he will be walking the plank (yraaarahhghhh) if all goes wrong.

Apparently Kenny isn't going anywhere. If anybody does it'll be Ozzie.

I really haven't tried that hard, just passing the time. I should ask that of you. You seem to be desirous of my attention.

You sonofabitch.....

Anyways, Beckham blows cock as well. This dude is a straight up bust and should be running fake dogshit outta' Hong Kong instead of making my eyes bleed. Just fucking bad. Crazy that the Sox could have (rumor has it!) given him to da' Padres in a deal for Adrian Gonzalez...man, that would have been something. Instead the Sox kept the next Derek Jeter and he repaid them with walking out onto the field during a game and taking a giant dump on home plate....thanks Gordo!

This team can go fuck off from its shitty pitchers to it's fucking stupid piece of shit skipper who just got busted for tweeting about the umps. I hope this team lives in the cellar, they deserve to. Have all these guys gone soft at the same time? I can take some scuffling, but this is just a piece o shit from top to bottom.

As of right now he is Josh Fields 2.0

One good half of a season followed by absolute dog-shit.

If Beckham is a bust then Josh Vitters has invented a new term for failed 'prospects'. What is he? An Abortion? Cancer? Genocide?

Hurts doesn't it? Hurts so bad that you have to resort to bashing the Cubs, instead of dealing with the level of suck from Beckham so far.

But the biggest difference is (and maybe this should go in the "Best GM" thread) - Vitters isn't an everyday starter in the major leagues.......the fact that Beckham is still up here is a joke.

Does Vitters have a MLB at bat? When it comes to Cub prospects, no one can reinvent the term 'failed'.
Say what you want, Keyser, but Beckham has been disappointing so far. I thought he would be a solid player. He may still be, but I think the book is out on him.

The book is out on Gordo and it reads a whole lot like a book about how a supposed 'superstar' prospect turns out to be a fucking waste of space.

After losing the 1st game, does a split make Sox fans feel better. If the Sox lose 3 of 4 to Baltimore or worse get swept, they thought Kenny Williams was firing somebody last week, he would almost have to after this weekend if it goes downhill.

Someguy, I will agree with you, if it doesn't turn around, people won't be coming out and this is a team that talks like they need fans to make the big moves.

No, Vitters doesn't have a major league at bat and at this rate he never will. Beckham has been a disappointment but to call him a bust is idiotic.

I wouldn't say idiotic. Given the hype, he could be categorized as a bust if his career has peak has been reached, no?

If this is Beckham's career peak, then yes he's a bust. I don't think it will be.

He'll be a .250-.275, 15-20 HR, 75-90 RBI guy.

Reason speaks the truth. The "hype" has to be factored into this. And the fact that he is still an everyday starter. His avg. dropped almost 30 pts. last year right? Now he's down another 60 from that right now? Yikes. He's toast up here. They should do him a favor and send him down for an extended period of time.

Beckham is not a bust, its very possible that expectations were set way to high though. He may just be an average second base guy. Defensively he has been pretty good, its the bat that isn't working.

I've calmed down slighty but this sucks. Could you imagine how much worse this would be if the Twins (or maybe the Tigers) were on top right now?

I'll still say it's idiotic. He gets in slumps that takes him too long to get out of but when he does he puts up big numbers. He just has to learn how to get out of these slumps sooner and let his talent take over and then we will see the player we thought he will be.

Also, isn't Ozzie supposedly on Coop at the Cork for the first hour this Sunday?

"Expectations being way too high" are a big part of what makes a player a bust - in any sport. Looking back, expectations were probably too high on Ryan Leaf, right?

Yeah I would say that an entire season is a pretty long slump.

And .200 so far this year.

Bad.
