I'm not going to make any assumptions based on the talent of the young arms Kenny picked up this offseason, however I WILL say again that the pitching staff needs to only be mediocre this season to make a run for the Division. I guarentee that Detroit will be nowhere at the end of the year and that Cleveland, NOT Minnesota, will be our biggest problem.

And I guarantee you that Cleveland will be no more than an 85 win team. The bullpen is horrible and JoBo will be a nice treat for teams that like to make 9th inning rallies.

sisco and aardsma are both bullpen guys, so the total W's and L's between the 2 of them probably will be less than 15.

Denks, Haeger, etc will be battling for the 5th starters position

I'm going to have to disagree with you GD. Yes, Bobo is a problem that will have to be addressed but the setup men are better (they couldn't be any worse!) and they have one of the better rotations in baseball. They also have better defense and a shitload of depth. I see the Sox and Indians going down to the wire (IMO).

cleveland does not have the pitching to race with the horses that are the sox, twins, and tigers.

If a Sox fan said, I doubt it, you could put a pile of dog crap on the mound and cover it with a sox cap and most of their fans would start screaming "cy young, cy young".

And if the dog crap played for the Cardinals, it probably would win a Cy Young!

Agree with this? I see NwO's point, all of a sudden, anyone Kenny gets is a star in waiting. Aardsm couldnt cut with the cubs or Giants, Sisco is awful and Denks is a maybe, but it was Kenny who said a year ago that he didnt like trading for prospects, but now he does. I am just worried, because Thome will break down, Buerhle is not gettting any better and Garland is due for a bad year, Pods is hurt, Anderson / Sweeney are question marks and we have a unrpoven bullpen, 3rd place, unless they get some huge years from Sweeny/anderson or Uribe. I just dont see it.

Manager Ozzie Guillen already has said that Mackowiak will return to center only in extreme situations, such as injuries, player suspensions, or long extra inning games in the upcoming season. With Darin Erstad's presence, Mackowiak understands his 255 at-bats from last season could drop. But Mackowiak refuses to grouse or take a "woe-is-me" attitude.

this is certainly good news.

That is true. Kenny said prospects should be called "suspects" instead. However, we have recently seen young teams do well in post season (i.e. the Marlins a few years back). So maybe the combination of veterans and youth will be a good thing for the sox.

yeah, but kenny has also see 2 of the sox highest touted prospects (joe borchard and mccarthy) do nothing with the sox. i know the jury is still out on mccarthy, but i didnt see anything from him that made me think he'd be the next blackjack.

The Sox do not make the 2005 postseason without Mc Carthy. The guy had key starts against the best hitting teams in the league down the stretch and shut them down.

That makes no sense. How would we even see the crap if it was covered by the cap? Now, give me a Rocky Biddle or a Jon Rauch under that cap and I will give you a rousing Cy Young shout, ideally backed by some Nancy Faust tones.

Go back to your trailer, douchebag. Next time I need some professional wrestling information (or japanese anime or Star Wars for that matter), I will let you know. As for actual sports, you clearly have no idea what thefuck you are talking about.
