Charles Barkley in studio from 11-1 according to Silverman on FB. I guess I'm listening to Mickey Mouse radio because Barkley amuses me endlessly.

..all this AND giangreco?! Guys, invest heavily in laundry detergent stock because there's going to be a lot of soiled undergarments over the next two hours.

Old people don't get healthy. Old people die.

This would be better without both Waddle and Giangreco. Also, Sarah Spain can stop doing updates any time now.

i don't listen to ESPN too much. It seems to me there is less air time for the hosts and more self-promotion and commercials than on WSCR. Is this just me?

Not at all. It's a spot on assessment. The breaks at every 20/40/top of the hour were always my biggest complaint about ESPN radio.

Interesting that she has a job in radio when her only discernible talent is her looks

Too many freakin' P90X spots and Colin Cowherd-read commercials.

This two hours with Barkley has been good stuff. Did he talk about his elbowing of the Angolan player during the Olympics? I heard him talking about a team during the Games being chippy and assumed it was related to that incident but didn't get to hear what was said before that.

TQ, he did mention the Angolans and said they were a dirty team. The guys were taking cheap shots and he warned them to stop, but they did not. The next game the Angolans played against Spain and they had an all out brawl...so sayeth Chuck.

Phil edit.

I missed certain parts when I went to grab lunch and get gas. I didn't hear that. Also, the Mike & Mike P90X ad almost made me drive head on into a pole to make the annoying sounds stop.

Charles was pretty good. Worth a podcast if they remove all of the commercial stuff. Interesting hearing him talk about the Olympics and Bird and Ewing becoming best buds. I also liked him throwing Knight under the bus for nixing him off the 1984 Olympic team. Knight went a different direction. Joe Klein, Steve Alford...

I don't think that was the implication. At first it sounded like that and when Waddle hinted at the white implication Barkley was quick to add that he also took Waymun Tisdale. Someone cut off Barkley as he was explaining why he thougth Knight took who he did, but I took it to mean that he thought Knight didn't want to take the best players, as if he was trying to show everyone what a great coach he was and how he could win the gold medal with Indiana type team guys as opposed to the best 12 athletes/players available. Seemed like Barkley was calling it more of an ego thing than a race thing.

it sounds like some dude woke up the bitch that he slept with, still hungover the next morning, empty red bull cans still clinging to the bed sheets, gave her a microphone and told her to read the sports section.
