Almost every Sox fan (everyone I talked to) was very excited for this team at the start of the season. Its fine to be upset, I am. We've got all these baseball geniuses coming out of the woodwork. Blaming Kenny Williams for putting this team together, Ozzie Guillen for playing them, Walker for not making em hit.

Its all on the players.

Woah dude. I'm not saying I had a problem with what Bernstein said at the beginning of the year. My issue is with the guy saying this week that "He'll hit his numbers". He'll have to have a career year for the remainder of the year to make those numbers. It's not going to happen. He won't make his numbers. That kind of talk at the beginning of June is bullshit. You can get away with that in late April or early May with a bad start, but not anymore.

I don't think this is 'all on the players'. Ozzie has a hand in this. He sticks with his veterans too long and pulls the plug on young players too soon. A manager needs to put his players in a position to succeed and Ozzie has been pushing the wrong buttons all year.

That wasn't just aimed at you, so many people are doing this. He is probably not going to post as good of numbers as he has been lately, however he is nowhere near this bad. Its not going to be that hard to end the year hitting .250 which is what he does. We all know he strikes out alot, the problem is he isn't offsetting it with home runs.

Its all mental for him right now, he has to get himself out of it. I think Ozzie needs to keep him down around seven.

No manager is perfect, including Ozzie. I don't think he has had all that bad of a year this year. There is nothing he could do to fix this team. He is doing what he is supposed to be doing and trying different things thats all we can ask for.

The bunting drives me nuts, putting McPherson out was dumb... but again its all on the players. They just are not executing when they need too.

Ok, just rough math here because I'm not good at math, but he's roughly 1/3rd of the way thru the season, he'll need to bat around .300 for the rest of the year to get that average up to .250...

He might now do that. But he is going to start hitting around .240 to .250 again. He's not going to stay below the Mendoza line all year.

A quick look at his stats, he hit in the .230s in 2008, looks like its going to be that kind of year. He just needs to start hitting homers, because he is driving me nuts.

Thorton has also been a major major disappointment so far.

The series against the Indians is a perfect example of how Ozzie isn't putting his players in a position to succeed. Game 1 against Justin Masterson who is death on righties (.148 BA against) and Ozzie plays Beckham who strikes out 3 times. The next night Fausto Carmona is pitching who Beckham is 4-9 against and Ozzie sits him. He should have sat him against Masterson and played him against Carmona but Ozzie doesn't put his guys in a position to succeed.

It's not all on the players.

Okay so how much of an effect percentage wise do you think that the Ozzie/coaching staff has had? I am not going to start listening specific instances of what Ozzie has done things correctly, because you don't talk about it when he does. Saying something like "He doesn't put his players in a chance to succeed" is pretty silly. He wants the team to win. He may make bad decisions occasionally, but it doesn't matter when your team doesn't hit the ball. That has a far larger impact than deciding to sit a player for a game.

Sox should have won three of the last four games. They had plenty of chances to do so, they didn't. How can Ozzie make them hit with RISP?

Ozzie needs to bench him vs lefties plan and simple

Damn it. Now they have to beat Romero to split the series. Fat chance of that happening with Ozzie's can't-win sunday lineup.

Another solid loss.

Big Dunn with a rousing 1-7.

He shouldn't play for the rest of this road trip unless forced into a game with extra innings or injury.

He is absolutely killing the team right now, and, yes, I do expect him to eventually hit, and, although the only way to get out of the slump is to be in the lineup, but enough is enough. He is awful, and the White Sox aren't good enough to overcome a guy striking out 2 or 3 times a game with men on base in crucial situations.

DH Quentin and Konerko on a rotating basis for the next few games, use Lllibridge in RF, whatever. Just no more Dunn on this road trip.

It kind of pisses me off that Cleveland has lost their last 3 and the Sox have only gained one game on what was an extremely stupid play by Toronto.

They have to pass 10 former teams to get the wild card? I hear the Expo have a team this year. Although I heard that from Gary in Evanston.

How is he supposed to get out of it if he doesn't hit? Not going to happen. He should just stay at 7th. In this series he has at least 2 RBIs. He is not "killing" the team. He is not the only player that is not driving in runs.

There is no single scapegoat. It was Juan Pierre, now its Adam Dunn.

Thorton hurt the team more than anyone today. He cost us the game. We had the lead and he couldn't get fucking Corey Patterson out.

Sox schedule is really easy in June and July. Our hard part of the schedule is almost over. White Sox schedule is always a fucking joke.

I agree that Dunn is not the only person to blame. Thornton is another problem, and there are others. Thornton has already lost the closing job, Dunn is being bounced around the lineup, but that isn't working. In my opnion, the next step is to let him clear his head, and bench him. I don't know that this will help, but the strikeouts in bad situations are hurting the team. Again, he's not the only one, but it's time to hold him accountable, and, who knows, maybe sitting out for a few games will actually help because things just can't get much worse than they are going for him right now.

Adam Dunn has been one of many reasons the Sox have struggled. His production, or lack thereof, is scrutinized because of the money he was paid. As I've said before if he was hitting .240-.260 with 10-15HR and an OBP of .370 you could live with his strikeouts.

I don't think he'll hit under .200 for the year but it probably won't matter if he gets his numbers if the Sox aren't in contention.

Thorton hurt the team more than anyone today. He cost us the game. We had the lead and he couldn't get fucking Corey Patterson out.

Sox schedule is really easy in June and July. Our hard part of the schedule is almost over. White Sox schedule is always a fucking joke.

The fucking schedule has not a fucking thing to do with playing horseshit baseball.

It is a difficult schedule that has them flying all over the place. The benefit of it is if they survive then they can do well in June and July.

Believe it or not, lots of travelling and playing lots good teams can have a pretty major impact on the record of a team. I know the "good pitching" thing is annoying and its not an excuse, but to say it has no impact is not true.

Which I think he will do, but he needs to do it sooner rather than later. I understand the frustration and scrutiny, I am too, but "benching" him or punishing him isn't going to help. He is well aware that he is sucking and I am sure it bothers him even more than us. He doesn't seem like a guy that just wants to collect a paycheck.
