For a team that was alledgedly hot coming into this series, our Sox are making the last two games look easy.

Only the Sox can make a 10-1 lead feel unsafe.

10-7.

I hate this damn team.

Looked like he misjudged it.

Over. Win 10-7.

Ugh.

Great job by Sale. He made one of the best hitters in baseball look silly.

Ugly wins count just as much as the pretty ones. A win tomorrow and it's a .500 road trip.

I know they're better than beautiful losses.

Just frustrating when actually watching.

This is a HUGE game. If they win this one and it's .500 on a very difficult road trip. After today the Sox would have played 35 games on the road and only 23 at home.

In June the Sox play home series against Detroit, Seattle, Oakland, Cubs and Nats. They go to play Minnesota, D'Bags and Colorado. July starts at the Cubs then home against Kansas City and Minnesota before the all-star break.

I think this team is about to go on a run.

I hope you are right keyser. But I think you maybe setting yourself up for disappointment. You cannot expect a team to keep coming out of the gate bad and then go on a huge run in June and July to get back into the race. That run last year was a lot of fun, but to do it 2 years in a row is dang near impossible.

They need to get the division lead down to about 3-5 games by the AS break to really have a shot at this thing. So from this point, they need to trim the division lead about 4 more games in the next 5 weeks. That does not necessarily require a "huge run" to do so.

Counting today they have 36 games left before the AS break. If they went say 22-14...that would be a real nice stretch, but I wouldn't call it a huge run.

To get the lead down 4 more games, Cleveland would have to go 18-16 (or thereabouts) during their next 36, which I don't think is inconceivable either.

Big mistake by Kenny to not resign him.... a right fielder who cannot move anymore.

The Sox have a good chance, they needed to stay close during this part of the schedule. They have done so... barley... but they have. These two wins in Boston have salvaged what could have been a disaster road trip. A win today and its a good one. Those games in Toronto were frustrating, but they happen. They have gotten to two extremely good pitchers in the last two games. The White Sox April and May were extremely tough. Plus the coast to coast travelling doesn't help either.

In June they play the Cubs, The Rockies, The Royals, The Twins, The Nationals and the D-Backs. They also play Oakland and Seattle which they have beaten. Don't give me that crap about Seattle being hot, they had won 8 out of 10 last time we saw them.

With knuckleballer Tim Wakefield pitching, you don't know what you will see. It's my understanding it's also a hot, humid day in Boston to boot.

Gavin needs to keep the ball down.

As for the late inning runs last night, it was just a bad outing by Ohman (who has been pretty good this year) and Brunney. Nothing to be all that upset about.

Suffice it to say that bigfan will start a thread later today saying that he just "happened" to tune in about 1:30pm today...
