In his defense, Ike was clear. He liked his buttholes clean.

I just saw one of those commercials promoting pistachios. It had Levi Johnston as the "celebrity" in it. It said he doesn't eat them without protection anymore.

Well, I hope you all enjoyed yourself.

And, I'll have you know that I paid actual money and probably still have that Deep Blue Something CD somewhere, along with Blues Traveler, Del Amitri, The Wallflowers, Verve Pipe, Counting Crows, Gin Blossoms and many others as I wandered in the Wilderness that was the mid-90s music scene after the demise of Rock & Roll music.

Moment of silence for Rock music........thank you.

I even attended a few Poi Dog Pondering concerts but that was more in attempt to pick-up chicks than an actual appreciation for the music. I also turned down the chance to go out and party with Smashing Pumpkins after I worked one of their shows in the early 90s, but later was able to drink with doug, so I always imagine that that's pretty much the same thing.

Luckily I rediscovered Country music in the late 90s which I discovered had provided refuge for Southern Rock, at least, from the destructive armies of Pop music out to eradicate all things Rock music. Double luckily for me, Hootie also rediscovered his country roots about 10 years later which has led us here.

Doc, I am pondering taking my son to go and see Rascal Flatts with Hootie opening. Any thoughts?

I'm not a big Rascal Flatts fan but Hootie's got 4 country songs that have been top 10 hits that are pretty good.

Also, RF is pretty big with the ladies so your son, depending on his age, (and you - depending on your age) may enjoy the scenery.

Dave Matthews (with Kenny Chesney) is at #8. The mid-90s invasion to country music is near complete.

Another brother that wouldn't know me in a lineup if I guarded him for three hours in a pickup basketball game.

Come on, you've read my stuff for a couple years. It's something I've got to keep in my back pocket to break out from time to time.

But, I promise I'll try not to overuse it. Not that, odds are, you'd remember the last time I used it anyway.

Over a year later and the country hits keep coming. It's like 8 now.

"This" might as we be written about my wife and I.

I don't really keep up with Rucker but I agree that he is a hell of a musician. His sport talk radio appearances are pretty good too

I'm not gonna lie. I still like Cracked Rear View. I also had no idea Hootie went country until I saw him on TV a couple of months ago. That said, keep the country...I'll just enjoy Cracked Rear View.

Well, the mid to late 90's were a giant pile of suck for me, so maybe I like me some depressing music disguised as peppy crap.

Well my Mom really liked that album too. Shit she puts it right up there with The Jazz Singer and Simon and Garfunkle's Bridge Over Troubled Waters. Not quite as good as Unforgettable though.

Maybe you should ask Darkside for her number. She might want to go to Ravinia with you, to see the Neil Diamond tribute band, "Shine On You Crazy Neil Diamond" fronted by Ace Spade.
