We still have 1.5 months until the draft but it is time to start proclaiming your man love and hopes for future Bear success:

Paul Posluzny: I don't know whether he will be available at 31 but I think he would be an excellent draft in anticipation of Briggs sitting out or being gone next year. Even if Briggs signs long term he would be an upgrade over Hillenmayer. Deceptively quick and a big hitter. I think he was playing a little too early after an injury at the end of 05. At full speed I think he would be a top 15 pick.

Steve Smith: I have always liked the guy. I was beginning to be optimistic about getting him in later rounds until this weekend. He ran a 4.44. He has always been a technician with his route running. His hands are excellent and he always seemed to overshadow his better known co WRs in big games. I have a feeling he will get into the first round.

I think Paul has lost a few steps with the knee injury. He was a non factor in the Outback Bowl and in many a game this season. I think he'd be great as a second-third round pick, but I am not sure he's a 1st round pick anymore.

Ben Grubbs OG Auburn - Had a great senior bowl and Ruben Brown is reaching the end of the string.

Arron Sears OT Tennessee - Another person addressing the O Line depth. He played every position on the line at Tennessee and could be a good RT for Fred Miller

I would not mind line help. It looks like a great year for guards.

Based on the combine, I liked Greg Olsen (TE) out of Miami. He's 6'5" / 250 and ran a 4.5. He was first team all-ACC last year.

Robert Meachem - WR out of Tennessee - looked pretty good also. Good size at 6'3' / 210 and ran a 4.39.

I'd like to see them get more athletic on the offensive side of the ball. I like Berrian, but he and Bradley can't seem to stay healthy for an entire year. And I think they can upgrade from Clark at TE.

I think you might be able to get some linemen later in the draft.

In my opinion the Bears need O-lineman. The good thing is that you can draft some really good lineman later on in the draft.
Grossman will not be the answer, for a lot of reasons.

I like David Carr

I'm not a huge fan of Carr's or anything but he was solid coming out of college. He has good size and a great arm, and he seems durable and mature. It is/was a tough situation to get drafted by an expansion team. A change of scenary should be a good thing. I don't see Grossman taking the Bears to the promised land. Make a deal and get Carr he has the potential to be a franchise QB and i don't think you get a good evaluation with him getting his ass kicked every Sunday wit the Texans. Their O-Line was dogshit.

He may have ran fast, but close did he stay to the yard line on the gauntlet drill?

I must have watched that drill 20 times (not sure why) and I fail to see what is to be learned of a guy. The commentators were explaining they need to run a straight line and stay on the yard marker, as well as catch all the balls thrown. I have yet to see a game where a receiver has to run a route and worry about catching a ball from the left and the right.

I agree with that, but perhaps it has to do with body control and the fact that in college as long as one foot is in, it's a catch but in the pros, you have to keep both feet in.

I agree with Doc. Id like to see the bears draft Greg Olsen in the first. Then go for a O lineman in the second and back to the defense after that.

This is a deep draft for defensive lineman. I hope they pick someone up in the 2nd to 5th round. Since I predict the next 4 super bowls will be Bears vs. Colts, we need to put pressure on Peyton Manning.
