They really cannot afford to lose this series and the pitching sets up nicely for 2 of 3. I think Cleveland is going to get smacked around by a surging Ranger lineup this weekend so it would be a great time to pick up a couple of games on the Indians and 1 on the Tigers. Please wake up Adam Dunn.

Pitching Matchups:

Tonight: Andy Oliver (0-0 4.50 ERA) vs Mark Buehrle (4-4, 3.91 ERA)
Tomorrow: Justin Verlander (5-3, 3.12 ERA) vs Edwin Jackson (4-5, 4.63 ERA)
Sunday: Brad Penny (4-4, 4.72 ERA) vs Jake Peavy (2-0, 3.24 ERA)

2 out of 3 isn't out of the question here, and they can hit Verlander (they did in Detroit).

Agree.

The Sox will probably beat Verlander and lose tonight.

EDIT: Stupidity

Jackson must hold grudges because he's pretty good against his old teams (10-5 3.38). I like it.

He got lit up last time he pitched against Detroit. Of course, the Sox were no hit for 6 innings or something so that didn't help, but still. I think he gave up like 8 runs or something like that.

Verlander is coming off a 132 pitch game. I remember John Dewaan having a stat back in his Murph days about pitchers having a horrible record the next start after anything over 120. The Tigers pushed him back a day from his normal start.

Watch for the Sox to hit him hard on Saturday.

It was this series at this time last season that launched the White Sox on their 25-3 or whatever run.

You know, there was a time in which the White Sox were the only team that could hit Verlander. This team has proven it can get to good pitchers... they just have to focus and just fucking do it. Two out of three in this series would do good for the team and the fans. I'm going to be up in Chicago quite frequently this month and would love to catch a few games, but I am not going to go more than once if they are stinkin up the joint!

Since the ticket section is no longer...

Where can you get the best prices on tickets?

Stubhub still discount tickets day of? That is, if you can find a discount code to cover the Stubhub handling fees.

You can always find a good price on the bridge over the Dan Ryan. You have to know where the seats are located and their prices to know you are getting a deal but there is always someone selling.

West of the park on the streets this is generally the case as well.

The Sox usually do better against hard throwers. That's why I think they have a chance against this Oliver cat even though they've never seen him before. If he were a soft tosser I'd say they have no chance at all because those fuckers always seem to tie them in knots.

Even though the White Sox are starting Mark Buehrle in the opener this eve, the Tigers are starting a pitcher the Sox have never seen before in Andy Oliver. Chances are, Ozzie will have a right-handed heavy lineup that'll have no more than 3 left-handed hitters in it. There's also a good chance Mr. Oliver will frustrate Sox hitters, too.

The White Sox won't see Tigers' 3B Brandon Inge in this series. Here's the reason...

One time I thought I had mono for an entire year but it turns out I was just really bored.

The lineup is in for tonight's first of 3 with the Tigers. You'll notice a certain left-handed hitter out of Ozzie's lineup vs. Detroit lefty Andy Oliver. I wonder why...

1 Juan "I'm Not the One Sitting" Pierre LF
10 Alexei "Smokin' Hot at the Plate" Ramirez SS
20 Carlos "I Think You Know What This Means" Quentin DH
14 Paul "Where Did My Homer Land at Fenway?" Konerko 1B
12 A.J. "I Don't Know What to Expect Tonight" Pierzynski C
51 Alex "Hitting .201 and Dropping" Rios CF
18 Brent "Why Does Darrin Jackson Call Me The 'Crusher'?" Lillibridge RF
15 Gordon "Hitting .242 and Rising" Beckham 2B
22 Brent "Hitting .238 and Rising, Too" Morel 3B

Mark "The Tigers Know Who I am" Buehrle toes the rubber in the first of a 10-game homestand this eve at U.S. Cellular Field.

being sat against Oliver has to be a career low point for Dunn

Don't really like Ozzie sitting Dunn tonight

Nope. I could understand if it was an established left handed starter, but to sit him against this guy does more harm than good IMO.

Guy is going to have to hit his way out, I really feel like its only going to take one or two good games to get that confidence back. He's playing tonight though.

Glad he's playing, but hope Paulie isn't out for long.

I think it'll take a strong week for Dunn to be back.
