Your opening up phone calls about what a Boston Celtic radio color guy said ?

WE NOW HAVE OFFICALLY HIT THE SPORTS ABYSS!!! :roll:

Email all of us when you guys get back to real topics and something Chicago ... Burhle got lit up again for 4 runs in 2/3rds of an inning in his first outing today ..That's news not what Corn-bread Maxwell is spewing . :roll:

what? a spring training pitching outing is a real topic? where? i could care less about the celtics, in fact i hate them--but this topic isn't about the celtics, it's about what the guy said about a woman ref. it's not the hottest story out there but it's a lot more interesting than a first outing in spring training.

or are you being facetious? sometimes i can't tell...

the radio color broadcaster, "cornbread" maxwell made a few dumb comments about violet palmer, the NBA's only (I think?) woman ref who's been reffing for more than a few years. she made a questionable call (as all refs do) in the eyes of maxwell and he said "go back to the kitchen", "go make me some bacon and eggs" or something. i don't think he was meaning it to be demeaning, but it came off that way. i think it was meant to be like..."oh get out of here" but he made the mistake of using those stereotypical phrases like "get back in the kitchen." whether he believes in it or not...i don't know. but he had to apologize for it, and i'm sure he'll be fined or something, deservedly so.

the sound byte was amusing to hear...

I hate that ho. What a horrible ref.

And didn't hear the discussion, but apparently he was mocking some Boston local, which is why he changed his voice and added the sound effects, but some blogger only ran with those comments and it exploded
