I don't think it's a stretch to say this. This distinction can only be held by and every day player. He's the worst. Especially when you consider that he can't run and sucks at defense. When he doesn't strike out, he hits into double plays.

Of course it's a huge stretch to call a guy with 350 homers and 900 RBI "the worst player in the game".

I'm talking about this season. Right now, as we speak, he's the worst player in the game. It can't be disputed.

I'll take him even up for Soriano.

You seriously need to visit the baseball reeducation camp in Caracas if you believe that.

Are you just fighting me just to fight me? He's batting .180 and he plays every day. Saying he's the worst player in the game isn't that outrageous.

Danny Valencia and Delmon Young-Twins.

Bill Hall and Chris Johnson-Astros.

All are worse.

Every day players. It has to be an "every day player" to win this.

Go fetch me their numbers. They won't be worse than Dunn's. Also, do all these players play every day? I really don't know.

He is a player in a slump right now, I'd bet that he will be out of it by the end of the month. He just missed a homer of a leftie yesterday and has terrible BABIP. Also, calling someone with his track record the "worst in the mlb" is idiotic. In fact, I guarantee that even in this slump he is not the "worst in the mlb". It is really frustrating but these things happen. Even the great David Ortiz had a start like this too.

No, you idiot, the .175 average equals worst player in MLB. The lack of run production means he's the worst in MLB. That and the double plays he hits into, lack of speed and poor defense when we send his ass to the field. He's just about an automatic out and the sumbitch plays every god damn day. When you also realize how much payroll he takes up it hurst worse. But I'm not even talking about that.

He's not that bad of a defender at first, he isn't slow for his size by any means and has had a great career. The Sox emphasized time and time again that he will strike out alot. We wouldn't care if he was hitting more homers. Once he starts doing this than he will be fine.

He has also been very unlucky. Again, no way he is "the worst player in the MLB". Do you know how many no name bench riders are up in the majors?

I'm not saying he'll be the worst player in MLB at the end of the year. I'm saying right now - and it's a fact - he is, indeed, the worst player in the game. Why is this so hard to understand? It's just true.

I expect him to come out of it.

I just want the "his numbers will be there" crap to never be mentioned again.

They clearly won't be there.

I agree with the first two parts of the statement, but i wouldn't say he's had a "great career". He's been a good player. He's a power hitter. But I wouldn't call a guy who hit .250 at the time he's done it "great". Maybe if he puts up those kind of numbers over the next eight seasons that will be great. It appears offensive numbers are steadily dropping.

Moneyball has caused the average fan to believe that a hitter's primary job is "not making outs". The walks are often overrated. A middle of the order hitter is not paid to walk. You listen to certain people savage a guy like Juan Pierre for making "too many outs". Well, how many leadoff men have a better career OBP than Pierre.

I'm sure many fans who swear by Baseball Prospectus would have screamed at you and talked slowly and authoritatively about how Adam. Dunn. is. better. at. baseball. than. Paul. Konerko. before this season began. But now they're on the same team facing the same pitchers in the same lineup and the same conditions and you can get a better comparison than looking at career OPS+.
