He took another shot at CBS, as well. "How come I can afford to pay him, but CBS can't ? "

that is a classy move...
here's a novel idea. get Grobber in studio full time and dump the other two. I'd switch from Mike and Mike for this.

Mike North Morning show with Les Grobstein. that's it though, nobody else says a fucking word except guests and callers.

He's right.

The Score talks about how they cover the local scene, and how they are Chicago sports, but they can send one of their reporters down there ? This is after every Score show was at the SuperBowl ?

Wasn't there a big stir last year about a national reporter scooping the locals on the extent of Prior's injury? I firmly believe that is essential to have your beat reporter with the team in spring training, but they do not seem to do their job.

Yes, wasn't it Baseball Prospectus that broke the story originally ???
You make a good point - With all the media coverage from our local reporters in the past, you have to wonder why they are often reacting to the breaking news instead of reporting it.

You have to laugh sometimes - once a story breaks, they act like they knew about it the entire time or had some inside information when, in fact, they knew nothing.

I checked 1000 three times, and immediately switched off all 3 times.

1st -- Dick Vitale yelling like only he can
2nd -- Duke talk
3rd -- Boston Red Sox starting rotation

Is Papelbom (sp???) starting ? Any more press conferences from Schilling ?

Vitale move Duke up to a #2 seed ? What was Dick's reaction to the foul - Did he say "Duke does it the right way ?" ?

If I recall the local writers brushed off the story, saying there was nothing to it.

Oops!

I think that's right. If I recall, wasn't the guys name Caroll ? I think he's a regular on Murphy's show, or he was at the time.

I just heard North mentioning that he pays Grobber out of his pocket. Excellent move that deserves credit. Not only because spring training reports are necessary but also because there is nobody who could do it better than one Les Grobstein.

Yes, nice move by Mike, but why mention it? Because he wants everyone to know that he is doing it. I know he didnt have to do it, but why not just do it and not look for credit all the time.

I'm pretty sure the person that broke that Prior story is a Transexual, I'm serious.

No, it was Will Carroll who works for Chris/Christina Karhl.
