In Schaumburg for a training class all week - need lunch venue ideas. Went to Moe's yesterday and that sucked.

For a real look at high society, I would recommend Applebee's.

Moe's is awful. Smashburger is on Golf just west of Plum Grove Rd on the South side of the street (next to Portillos). There is a Chipotle in Streets of Woodfield. Also a Meatheads and a Jersey Mike's.

Cool - think I'll go check out Smashburger.

Thanks!

Or at least...spent my high school and after years there.

The fact that it's been there for over 10 years makes me a little old, and kind of sad. I used to stop there for lunch when I was fixing copiers back around 2000/2001

I can see you're an individual who lacks culture.

I've never eaten at an Applebee's, a T.G.I. Friday's, a Ruby Tuesday, or an Outback Steak House. Not really by design, just never had occasion to. Or Fuddruckers.

All of those places blow. This is what you get when you want to surround yourself by culture.

Good call on Smashburger Boyd. I liked it better than 5 Guys but not sure if I like it better than Meatheads.

Which burger did you go with?

I am a BigFan of the Windy City...I think it's the pretzel bun that is the big seller for me

Or a burger. They certainly aren't the greatest by any stretch but if you do ever find yourself there, a burger or chicken is generally a safe bet.

I went with the Classic but substituted pretzel bun instead of normal bun. Got the regular fries too w/ ranch and very good.

Trying to eat lunch in schaumburg is ridiculous. Every place is freaking packed unless you get there by 11:30am. Today I had to settle for crappy Jimmy Johns because of time crunch to get back to class.

That's why I go to lunch at 11:30 every day.

i think chili's is a notch higher than TGI or applebee's...and ruby tuesday went down the toilet when they tried to go postmodern years ago. chili's is fairly standard stuff. it's not great, but it is definitely better than some of the overpriced, overstuffed crap you get at, say, weber grill, or claim jumpers.

i don't know how you guys go out to lunch in places like the schaum. when i worked near cantera in warrenville it was awful trying to go to a restaurant. you either had to go real early, like 11am, or late like after 1:30pm. it was nuts.

I don't think any of those places need an occasion to go visit, or order by takeout. You should venture out some. There is a whole new world out there my friend.

Wrong. I can get them at any Jewel store as well. They are not just exclusive to SHARK's waters.

Went to my favorite chinese joint, Yu's Mandarin on Golf Rd in Schaumburg for a business/boondoggle lunch meeting. Szechuan chicken & shrimp is outstanding.

Their egg rolls suck.

Smiling Buddha is better.
