Floyd's numbers have always been a little bit better than his stuff. It's just going the other way on him this year. It'll even out and he'll be fine.

The really perplexing one is Danks, but at least he's put a few solid outings together recently.

I would be more than happy if the Cub were to take Danks off the Sock hands. He's just having one of those years. It happens in baseball.

Yeah, I like Danks a lot, bad start or no. He's a solid #2 type.

Why waste the good relievers for a loss?

Stole my thunder was just about to say that.

He's logged a ton of innings. Its not uncommon for an above average pitcher to have a bad year like this. The Win Loss record makes it look worse than it is.

I think at his best, Danks can be a #2 on a world series team.

EDIT: Goddamn. I just wrote that #2 line and IB scoops that one.

You guys are good

Bruney and Harrell have no business being on a major league roster and Ohman shouldn't face more than 2 hitters a night. Does it really take 2 shitty pitchers to take the place of one shitty Tony Pena??

I hate bullpens, always have. The above names are the reason why every thinking baseball fan should hate bullpens.

I hate bullpens, but I've come to accept that it's how the game has evolved. I don't like it though.

Maybe its because im just used to it having bullpens since I was a kid and started watching but I love a good bullpen. The Reds in 90, The Playoff Angels 02 pen, The Yankees in 96. Even Marmol for the Cubs in 07-08. Its pretty cool when a team can say, FUCK YOU, GAME OVER when they have a lead after 6.

But I see the evil of those names and the watered down league is more evident at reliever than anywhere else.

I dunno what Z's pitchcount was, but since the 1st he has been on cruise control. I wonder what he'll say if Marmol blows this one...

For those of you not familiar with Sox late inning games, the tieing run will be on 3rd with 2 outs, and Juan Pierre will come to the plate. That is the life of a Sox fan this year.

One thing is for sure, this year the Cub can lose any game when there is an out left. They fucking blow.

Well, at least the Cub won't get swept. So, we have that going for us, which is nice.

If Pierre continues to be trotted out the Coob may not lose a game.

Current Sox to be murdered:
Floyd
Rios
Pierre
Ohman
Harrell
Guillen

This team's fiddle fucking around is really tiresome. The Cubs are not good this year so far and the Sox should have pounded the shit out of them. Of course the Sox worst pitcher again shits the bed. Floyd should not be pitching in the majors. He is a mental midget and will fuck this team over and over.

^^^ Rios has been better, two homers and a big hit in the 9th. Ohman was brought in to be a LOOGY and has been more than adequate. But don't worry everybody!!

Kenny just talked to the trib and called Viciedo a "major contributor"... but he just doesn't want to "rock the boat".

Quote:
“I admire the focus, hard work and the thought that he knows he’s put himself in a position to where he’s ready and going to be a major contributor, but also in keeping his focus at the job at hand, and keeping his head and (rear) in Charlotte versus having his head in Chicago," Williams said. "And that’s not easy to do all the time. I admire him for that.

"But right now we’re going to hold tight. Ozzie likes the team that he’s running out there every day. If it turns out he wants a little more offense and change up the mix a little bit, we know we can tap into him at moment’s notice. And he knows he can get him at a moment’s notice if he wants to change up the mix."

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/ba ... ?track=rss

ROCK THE FUCKING BOAT KENNY!

It is fucking well known how stubborn Ozzie is. If the Sox start winning more consistently than nobody fucking cares. Everyone is happy. The Dodger's sat Pierre, now its our turn. We are lucky to have gotten last year out of him.

Anyways, this game is frustrating because of the way we lost. Floyd loses it, offense cannot score three runs to tie it. I don't really care that its too the Cubs. They are terrible, and the teams prospects do not look good for a long time.

Ozzie can't possibly like the team he's running out there everyday. He likes what Pierre has done in the past but as usual is slow to realize he's not that player anymore. It's time for Kenny to take his toy away, again.

This is where it becomes difficult of course. I wish someone would be willing to take Teahen (nobody is going to take Pierre), but his contract makes that less likely.

Mike Quade says they are having fun out there. That's all that matters. This coming from a guy who was a Cub fan & local guy growing up? That is what is really troublesome to me. He is like Lou Pinella sans hair when it comes to understanding the eternal plight of the Cub Fan.
