Anyone getting these? I'm not really interested in either, but figured some of you would pick 'em up.

I was really interested in Dungeon Siege 3, but from the write ups it sounds like the game is gonna kinda suck. The biggest knock i read is the inventory management. If that sucks, that basically ruins a game like this.

I don't play co-op so I don't care about crap like that. All I want out of a game like this is a top down isometric camera, tons of leveling up that leads to replayability, good loot management system, and no emphasis on story. Basically, I want a clone of the great Champions of Norrath games from the PS2, but it doesn't sound like this is going to be that.

I'll wait till I see a bunch of reviews and then make a decision.

Dungeon Siege is getting terrible reviews, hovering around the 6.5 range. :(

The loot is supposed to suck so that's a huge knock for a game like this.
There are fucking conversation wheels! Games like this shouldn't even have a story, let alone a choose your own adventure crapfest. When I play games like this i skip all cut scenes, no fucking way am I gonna sit through a convo wheel.

Diablo III also has dynamic conversation....

I don't understand at what point in video gaming the act of playing the game was replaced by the act of talking in the game, but it was at that point that games took a serious nose dive in terms of quality. Storys are for fucking books, not games.

Its like that LA Noire game. I read a review where they gave it a great score and the review basically went like this...

-Great story
-AMAZING facial reactions on all the characters
-Great graphics
-great representation of Los Angeles
-boring gameplay
-nothing to do in the city
-boring investigations
--boring driving and shooting

How the fuck is that a good game????

IMO, games should be reviewed on gameplay first and formost. If a game's gameplay isn't good the score should have an absolute review score ceiling limit of a 5. Amazing graphics and story? Good for you. bad gameplay? 5/10.

100% with shakes on this one. I remember I think it was the sequel to Metal Gear on the PS2 where it really started to turn. I really do not feel like watching an hour long fight scene before the last boss. Seriously. Thats why I liked Half Life 2 and the first Portal so much there was a story but it happened around you being able to do other stuff not just sitting there and watching an anime.
