This is as good a spot as any to start Brent Lillibridge. Ozzie started Lillibridge, not Vizquel, at second base when Beckham had a slump like this before. It turned a light on for #15 after that...I've got to think Beckham returns as a potential defensive replacement late in the game or tomorrow vs. journeyman lefty Doug Davis.

From what Ozzie told the media yesterday, he's giving Beckham a breather in the wake of an 0-for-12 slump. He's not calling it punishment...Really?

Based on what Ed Farmer & Darrin Jackson said on the SCORE/White Sox Radio Network broadcast last night, they said Vizquel's giving Ozzie "better at-bats..." which explains why the 44 year-old continues to play second base, at least for 1 more night.

At the beginning of the year I thought it was a good idea that the Sox picked up Ozzie option for next season only because we wouldn't have to hear the Guillen stooges bitch and cry about it all season. Now I'm starting to think it was a bad idea because there is absolutely no way Ozzie would be managing like this if his job depended on it next year. Again there is no sense of urgency to win and he just pencils in the vets every fucking day no matter how many opportunities they fail to capitalize on.

SJ, I respect what Omar Vizquel has done throughout his 22-year career, but Ozzie can't continue to play him everyday. He's 44 years old, you know...Ozzie's tried to be very careful, let alone respectful since Vizquel joined this team 2 years ago.

Vizquel can still play. There is no question about it. I think he's one of those veterans who can be had at the MLB Trade Deadline to help a contending team's bench. I would not be shocked if the White Sox sent Vizquel packing and put the #11 back in mothballs WHERE IT BELONGS, regardless of what Hall-of-Famer Luis Aparicio says, when the Trade Deadline happens in July.

Jeff Baker played a somewhat routine fly in right into a triple in that Yankees series. When is Marlon Byrd's face going to be OK?
