No. It's probably for Peavy.

Thornton still isn't right. The last couple seasons he has been a monster with a nearly unhittable fastball. Now mediocre hitters just foul him off until they get something to drive or take a walk.

That was a season saving win.

THIS is what we get for the 5th Highest Payroll in MLB?
A "season saving" win versus the Mighty Cubs?

Assuming we win the season series with the Cubs then the season is a success.

Yes he has been frustrating and streaky, but the bullpen in general has recovered nicely. Hell even Ohman has been more than serviceable.

Soto is awful. He was good in '08 and '10, but bad in '09 and '11. I think if he blows next season, it's time to move on.

The lineup won't be known for another hour or so, but it's safe to say that...

*White Sox 2B Gordon Beckham returns tonight after 3 games off
*Brent Lillibridge likely starts in the OF, but where?
*DH Adam "91 K's and Growing" Dunn might be on the bench vs. lefty Doug Davis
*Aramis Ramirez likely DHs for the Cubs, says manager Mike Quade

That is called the Bret Saberhagen path, except he was good in the odd numbered years.

Trachsel had a similar thing going on but I think he was decent on the even years.

That sounds familiar.

This is an interesting lineup Ozzie has put pen to paper. As much as we are tired of Juan Pierre in a White Sox uniform, Brent Morel's sacrifice fly scored the winning run and Ozzie has hinted previously about the young third baseman as a potential #2 hitter.

I'm also interested to see how SS Alexei Ramirez does this eve as the #5 hitter right after Paul Konerko, not to mention see how 2B Gordon Beckham responds after 3 straight games off. I wonder if much-maligned hitting coach Greg Walker has worked on fixing Beckham's swing and approach during Gordon's down time and if it'll start paying off again...

That's a W.

DeWitt.....AND Baker? This might be 2 wins. Glad to see Soriano isn't DHing again

That's why I love the Jakemeister so much. He strikes out the last two hitters and he walks off the mound shaking his head and yelling at himself because he let Soriano off the hook.

Rapid Doug Davis blowing that 80 MPH fastball by these assholes. It's amazing how these dicks can make the shittiest fucking pitchers in baseball look like Cy fucking Young.

This is the inning we'll get him. 3 spot right here. Konerko might get one good pitch to hit all game. It might be right here cuz he's leading off an inning. Keep that HR streak going.

Damn. They were trying to go around him here, but Paulie is too anxious and reached out for one. That 2nd pitch he took was a good one to hit. That was the one.

Not even a polite clap for me? :(

Should have been more than 3, actually.
