Good morning fellers. I stuck with this thread as long as I could. I'm done. It was fun though. Feel free to keep it alive.

And he was around since he was a kid.

He is terrible now, but he made his name from when he was just a little tyke.

He was never good.

Point is, Lil doesnt stop someone from being popular.

today's HHSOTD entry comes from the "yrx" part of latyrx, aka lyrics born with his "political" song off'a the "everywhere at once" LP. i love the beat on this song (which i think LB produced. he's pretty slick about it, IN FACT, there was an album add-on or a standalone DVD called "the lyrics born DVD experience" which featured some music videos of his (the latyrx music video was awesome... holy shit the world needs another latyrx EP/LP/something. in 98-99 i used to drive a 94 celica GT with *two* latyrx stickers on the back window (along with a j-live sticker! RAW SHACK RECORDS Y'ALL1!!!" --- oh yeah, my original point was that on the lyrics born DVD experience one of the videos was of him going and making a beat... literally in ~10 minutes he had a working hiphop beat based off of old funk/jazz loops, and literally, you're in his crib and watching him set it up with his software/mpc, and i love shit like that. it gives back to the little wannabes like me in the rap community.

anyways i'm rambling, so please enjoy lyrics born - do u buy it?

then no, i haven't. i've read something about them in the red eye whilst on a bus, but at that show i was fashionably late enough cuz really i only wanted to see sean price and monch that night.

i'm still pissed that the pharoahe monch / slaughterhouse tour spring/summer 2010 didn't come through chicago. i guarantee you that monch will tour australia ~4-5 times b4 he has another show here in chicago.

anyways, what are like 2-3 good songs by them that i should go check out? i've got a new 8gb mp3 player and these kickass $17ish sharper image "big" headphones that bump so i could use the ammunition.

Anything off of When Fish Ride Bicycles. Also I bet you'll have some thoughts on their record label.

Boomin is really good.
Penny Hardaway feat Ghost is good (even if it has kind of a weak hook)

I'd suggest listening to the EP Bake Sale first. A couple of really good bass heavy trakcs. Chuck Inglish is a really good producer and not a bad rapper...

thanks gents... soulseek is getting a workout today.

i'm borderline if i should start a thread on these $17 headphones i copped. i got 'em at borders in schaumburg where they're $25 and 30% off while they're clearing out, and as someone who burns through like ~5 pairs of headphones per year thanks to perpetually bumping music / radio whilst using public trans, these headphones almost have me ready to go back and buy another pair or two to back 'em up. don't sleep!

You should. I've been looking for some better quality headphones since I can't seem to keep a pair longer than a couple months...

If you got them from anywhere in Schaumburg I can assure you that they are the greatest ever. They probably could be sold for about $300.

the problem is that when i got them i threw out the box so i don't have the model # or anything....

see, i come from years of fucking with those $20-25 sony "studio monitor style" headphones, as those were the standard for how i rolled. then my local walgreens started stocking skullcandy ones which sound slighty better than the sony ones but fall apart quick. cuz i don't like fucking with "normal" headphones, i need the big ones, and i'm all about that $25ish market.

well these sharper image ones sound way better than the sony studio monitor style ones, in fact, at the schaumburg borders they had a bunch of sharper image headphones that look like the sony ones, but also bend and whatnot... i'm so glad i went with the "big" headphones.

they're black with white circles and red trim on the side of the earmuffs.... and as i said they're like $17.40 or something after their 30% discount, and they sound just as good if not even a tad better than my KOSS ur-20s which i've used @home for all of my recording/mixing/etc uses. and these are just walk around the street headphones...

then i walk around a FYE in woodfield and notice while htere's a white pair of those sony studio monitor style ones for like $15, all of the comprable headphones to mine are $40-50+. I wouldn't fuck with skullcandy shit ever again, and so many of the $40-50ish headphones got dumb shit on the sides of them... fuck that. like i said, i almost wanna effort running back over there after work and coppin another pair of them for $17 while they're still there.
