CHICAGO -- White Sox pitcher John Danks' Saturday start was cut short after he had to exit early with anstrained right oblique, according to White Sox's media relations.

After getting Jerry Hairston Jr. to pop out to right field, Danks called the trainer out to the mound and seemed to be pointing to his right side and hip area. It is unclear if Danks hurt himself while delivering the pitch or when he ran to back-up a potential play at third base.

Danks had allowed only one base-runner in one and 2/3 innings pitched on the day.

Despite an 0-8 start to the season, Danks was beginning to turn things around. In his last three starts, all wins, Danks had combined to throw 22 innings while allowing only three earned runs.

santos has blown what.... two saves? his other notable failures have come in tie games or 1+ IP performances. i'd go back to him in the 9th and see how he responds, which thus far as been good. he's not approaching levels of brandon-league-bad back in may, and speaking of brandon league has been pretty damn good since he had that awful week.
