Did you know that the New Jersey Devils of the NHL used to be known as the Colorado Rockies?

You do now.

Pitching matchups:
Gavin Floyd (6-7) vs. Jason Hammel (4-7) today at 7:40 p.m.;
Mark Buehrle (6-5) vs. Ubaldo Jimenez (2-7) Wednesday at 7:40 p.m.;
Jake Peavy (3-1) vs. Aaron Cook (0-3) Thursday at 2:10 p.m.

2 of 3 isn't out of the question, but I don't have a whole lotta faith in this team at this point.

With that Oh-fence and that ballpark, Gavin Floyd is bound to get lit up.

Coors Field is awesome. I think I like it even more than the Cell.

The Colorado Rockies were the Kansas City Scouts.

There are 3 White Sox who've actually done very well vs. tonight's Rockies' starter in Jason Hammel, and only 2 of them appear to be in Ozzie's DH-free lineup.

14 Paul "All-Star Bound" Konerko-2 for 5 with 2 HR
32 Adam "You're Sitting Tonight" Dunn 5 for 13, HR, 2 Doubles
51 Alex "You're Playing" Rios 4 for 11, HR, 2 Doubles

You aren't gonna sit Paulie, and you absolutely cannot afford to put Dunn in that cavernous outfield. Yeah, the ball jumps out of there but its also a big ballpark.

Ozzie said in his postgame presser after the Nationals' loss Sunday that Adam Dunn won't play tonight and likely won't tomorrow. I understand that they use a humidor at Coors Field, but given that thin mountain air and the fact it's supposed to be smokin' hot this week in Denver, I have this feeling even the least likely of home run hitters will go deep in this series...

The DH-free lineup is in for the first of 3 with the Rockies in Denver. Here's how the White Sox will deal with Colorado's Jason Hammel:

1 Juan "Dayan Viciedo's Waiting" Pierre LF
22 Brent "Take Pitches" Morel 3B
20 Carlos "Left Field in His Future?" Quentin RF
14 Paul "All-Star Worthy" Konerko 1B
10 Alexei "At Least I Make Contact" Ramirez SS
12 A.J. "What's a Humidor?" Pierzynski C
51 Alex "I'm Starting to Hit! YAY!" Rios CF
15 Gordon "Slump This!" Beckham 2B
34 Gavin "I'm a Pitcher...I'm Not Supposed to Bat!" Floyd P

Gavin fucking Floyd has had more good at bats today then Dunn has in the last week.

Way to leaving more runners on base, fellas. Christ, they have to be the worst team in the league at failing to get a runner home from 3rd with less than 2 out.

Is it so difficult to hit a fly ball? And I'm still pissed Lillibridge didn't lean into that one on Friday night.

Giving up a run was far better than I expected out of Gavin that inning.

If he had any offensive help, he'd still have a healthy goddam lead.

Why is Dunn not playing? He was on pace to set the season strikeout total. This is going to hurt his chances.

No matter what happens, this game needs to go 9 innings. They cant afford to play another 14 inning game.

The game remains tied while the powerful stroke of Adam Dunn remains on the pine.

I knew when I turned the game on in the 8th and heard Hawk mention something about the first strike out for either team that this had to mean Bad Donkey was on the bench.

So they walk the lefty with the LOOGY pitching. Who the fuck is managing this team, Oney?

Think of it this way. If you play 18 and lose it only counts once. It counted twice for the Cubs today.

Lillibridge is playing enough now that his shortcomings are becoming clear. We're still playing if Rios is in center because they never run that guy.

I didn't watch the game, but was following it online. How do you score from first on a single? Was there an error?

Having played The Cub yesterday, the baserunner was inspired by the genius of Mike Quade, the former 3rd base coach who was today appointed to the All Star game!

No, it was 2 out on a full count, the runner went and Lillibridge half-assed a little flare. The second time he nonchalanted one tonight.

You could ask Enos Slaughter, but he is most assuredly dead.

Johnny Pesky (a/k/a Pesky's Pole) does not like to talk about it.

When C.Gonzalez came up in the bottom of the 13th to face Ohman, Farmer was certain Ozzie would pitch to him.
Ohman intentionally walked Gonzalez and Farmer and DJ began this small discussion of how Ozzie has become more conventional.
While he did not go with the lefty/lefty matchup, I feel he has become more conventional in other facets of the game. (Bunting, base stealing, lineups, bullpen).

I guess this is a good sign that his tenure should end.
