Viciedo is pounding the ball in Charlotte to the tune of .322 with 15 HR, 59 RBI and an OBP of .362.

He is coming, or should be coming, and the musical lineup chairs will fall somewhere, but who will be left out?

Ozzie loves Pierre, and his fascination with a "classic" leadoff hitter likely keeps him in the lineup, and probably in LF. There is a possibly of moving Pierre to CF for the struggling Rios, but if they don't like JP's glove in left, I can't imagine CF is a very good idea. That leaves RF, with Quentin presumably stealing Donkey's ABs at DH, but I don't think KW will like the idea of his big FA acquisition riding too much pine.

They don't like Tank's glove at 3B, but Morel is gonna have to start hitting his weight, I don't care if he plays like the 2nd coming of Brooks Robinson over there, 1 HR and 15 RBI and a .269 OBA is just not going to cut it for a MLB 3B, especially on a team with so many guys struggling with the dreaded "down year".

Personally, I'd like to see him get most of Pierre's ABs and some of Quentin's... but we shall see.

Just a question. Juan Pierre has gotten on base at a .346 rate for his MAJOR LEAGUE career and that sucks. Dayan Viciedo gets on at .362 in AAA and that's great. Am I correct?

But Viceido will hit more HRs, drive in more runs, and won't get caught stealing more than...what, maybe 5 times a season? And I would bet if it was say 5 or 6 CS, at least half would be on hit and runs or sending him with an 0-2 count on the batter. Viciedo also has too, and I mean has to, be better than Pierre in the field. I don't think he could be any worse with a cast on his glove hand out there.

All true. I just think Pierre is being unfairly scapegoated for a team with a lot of faults. I think Pierre has already driven in more runs than the Great Scott Podsednik did in his landmark 2005 season.

There's an easy way to stop Pierre's caught stealings. Stop sending him in every obvious situation.

Can Dayan Viciedo take an occasional walk when the White Sox officially call him up from Triple "A" Charlotte? Besides the lack of defense when Viciedo was recalled last spring when Mark Teahen was DL-ed, Viciedo didn't exact take his base on 4 pitches...

His Salary is $2.25 M, THIS YEAR! and $3.25 M next year.

If he does come up and does really well, Scott Boras is his agent. Figure it out. $$$$$$$$

He's making $1.25M this year and $2.5M next year.

if Viciedo has enough service time to qualify for arbitration after 2011, he may void 2012 season (if voided, club may exercise option at $3.5M)

Bringing him up to give him 1 full year makes him eligible for arbitration

and he is ALLOCATED at $2.25 this year due to his $4M signing bonus.

A player needs 3 years of major league service time to qualify as a free agent. He would also fall short of super two status.

Service time is in Days on a team, not games played and I would guess we are right on the verge of combining his previous playing time+ remaining time this year to get to the 160 days or so that make up "a Season"

I know how service time is calculated. You said if he gets arbitration eligible after 2011 then he can void his 2012 contract. He wouldn't reach arbitration eligibilty even if he started this season from day 1 so you're wrong.

I think this is another of your crackpot conspiracy theories that is way off base but I will give you credit for determination and entertainment value.
