So Pappy really thinks Lie-ola (as he says it) should be in the field of 64? I've heard people complain about Drexel, Syracuse, West Virginia, etc. not getting in, but Loyola? Pappy's rationale was because they only lost to Butler by 1?

Good rationale to prove your point I guess, but I'm sure if you examined each of the 64 teams, many of them lost to teams that didn't make the tournament. So do each of them get in too? One game doesn't define a season, but in pappyland aka what have you done for me lately, it does.

I was hoping for a Loyola-Depaul matchup for the NIT. Too bad it didn't come to be. It would have been fun.

Been claiming for years they should have an Illinois tourney.

of course U of I would hold out for awhile at the beginning but after a short time I think they would be shamed into playing.

Depaul
Loyola
UIC
Ill. St
Bradley
Northern
SIU
Northwestern
Western Illinois
Illinois

Bottom 2 Every year sit out next year

This would be GREAT,,,but Schools like Illinois and DePaul would NEVER let it happen--at least they would not take part. It's the old 'Too much to lose' excuse. Heck,DePaul wont even play Loyola anymore unless the Ramblers were willing to play ALL games in Rosemont. SIU rarely plays up here,Bradley would, but if the Illini and Blue Demons wont play,,it take's too much away from it. It's a crying shame, but that's the way it is,and has been for years!
I will say, that DePaul has been more 'progressive' about this(they DID play UIC a few years ago)since Jeannie Ponsetto became Athletic Director. I have a ton of respect for her!

I wouldn't mind a city tournament, Depaul-UIC-Northwestern-Loyola.

Of course Loyola-UIC are in the same conference so it takes away from the appeal but you can schedule a weekend tournament, two games on Friday or Saturday and the championship game on Sunday. Doesn't Philadelphia have the same type of tournament with their teams?

Philadelphia has the Big 5 (Penn, St. Joe, Drexel, Villanova and somone else). I don' think they play it as a tourney, just games scheduled in one day.

That would be a great way to play it. One day, 5 games, two locations.

Or as BF said, a top eight starting on Friday and ending on Sunday. If they had it in early December, then you could let the kids have two weeks off before they played another game. At the same time it would be great practice for conference tourneys.

Drexel is not considered part of the Big 5; the other member is LaSalle.

Getting back to the "Loyola snub" -

This is my whole problem with Mike's show - he doesn't prepare at all. He doesn't look at anything outside his small little world. A little preparation - heck, just watch the games - and you would have known who was snubbed and who wasn't and why. If you pay attention during the year, you can speak somewhat intelligently on the topic.

If you're not a big fan of college b ball, then say it and move on. But you need to know the basics before you start shouting and arguing.

He's like the loudmouth at the end of abr - they're entertaining for a while, then it becomes annoying, and then it just becomes sad.

I believe we are at sad.

I tuned in while on my commute to work (which is about 3 minutes) and they actually started going some indepth Hockey? He was assking for calls to get the NHL back?

I know the NHL sucks and it is bad and everything else, but on the Monday after the NCAA you think we can get some of the experts on? maybe talk some NCAA Predictions?

Cannot agree more. North thinks that everyone that posts here hates him. That is not true. It is just that his current work pales in comparison to what he has done in the past. You can hear him mailing in show after show. No prep work, no callers, wrong information, it is almost as if as soon as he moved into morning drive he stopped working. His production staff is much weaker that the other score shows. The show is really all his, and it is a train wreck.
