Another nice win and a much needed series victory. Edwin pitched great and Beckham had a big hit in the 9th. Humber going for the sweep tomorrow. Ozzie should run the same lineup out there again tomorrow.

What about Juan? he has been playing great of late, but the Bernstien sympathisers would never do that

He was very bad for a good stretch of the season. People who do not listen to Bernstein have noticed this, the reason for this being that he was terrible.

He has had some very good games and I hope he keeps it up. If he is able to steal bases, he will be worth much more to the team. I still think Viciedo would have a bigger impact than he would on this team. I am not the only one who thinks this either.

The Sox have looked like the team we have been expecting all year. I really really hope they keep this up. It is the perfect time to get hot.

What a difference 3 weeks make! start raggin on Rios and Dunn they are the ones killing this team

Jean Pierre has been very good at the plate recently.

I no longer wish death upon him.

The same lineup 3 days in a row?? Is Ozzie actually showing a sense of urgency?? Wonders never cease.

Has Mark Teahan become the new 3B or is this a temporary move? I like it. Morel is a backup and they need to find offense - no that Teahan is a difference maker, but he's better than Morel offensively.

Jeez. Tough luck outing for Humber. That should have been an error on Alexei.

I know that is what makes it worse, in this position because they are just underperforming

Not to go all Hawk, but it is tough to put that one on Humber. Some horrible scoring and duck snorts fell in.

Alexei's error and Teahen and JPs shitty at bats had more to do with it. Beckham still moved the runner, but yes the bunting is annoying. Its not going away though. I hate the bunt, and Dayan Viciedo should still be up here. JP or Vizquel, pick somebody and do it. I am putting the blame on Kenny for that bs.

Humber appears to be regressing a little bit, but he is still really good even with a little regression.

I will take 2 out of 3 anyday though. This offense actually appears to have life again. I am feeling better about this team. Gotta do well in KC.

That was a tough play for Ramirez. I'd say most times he makes it. There's nothing you can do about that.

And I'm not saying they score the run for certain if Beckham doesn't put himself in a bad count with shitty bunt attempts. Maybe they lose anyway. But I do know this: Valverde hadn't recorded an out. He struggled badly with AJ and he couldn't get his heater past either Pierzynski or Beckham. He faced two long at-bats even though one of them was likely shortened by ill-advised bunt attempts. Valverde was clearly coming unhinged out there. Once he got that first out, he seemed to relax. If these guys can't hit, let's replace them with guys who can. But Beckham was 2 for 3 today. He seemed like he had a good chance to get a hit vs. a struggling closer. Instead we got to watch him try to bunt in a pathetic manner. Hell, I'll bet bigfan has six year olds on the tee ball team that can bunt better than that sorry show.

I constantly hear Sox fans complain that the Twins always get a guy on and first and third him against us. "Why can't the Sox do that?" It's tough to do when as soon as a guy gets on, the next guy is ordered to make an out on purpose to move him up 90 feet.

Bad coaching job by Ozzie all game.

Why'd he wait to bring Sale in to turn Carlos Guillen around when he should've turned Victor Martinez around with Sale.

I don't have much problem with the way Guillen handles his pitchers. That's one thing he's pretty good at. But I agree with you there. I understand he doesn't want to tax the bullpen, but they should be well-rested out of the break and with Jackson's complete game. If he wanted Humber to finish the inning, that weak ass flare for a hit shouldn't have been the thing that made Ozzie take him out. The thing to do was to bring in Sale to face Martinez. Although I'm pretty sure his numbers are fairly similar from each side of the plate, Humber was clearly tiring.

This might be one of JORRs best posts I've seen. The minute I saw Beckham bunting I started thinking that valverde was gonna get out of it. they're down to their lats 3 outs, down 1 and they give up 1/3rd of an inning to move along the TYING runner? Jesus that's not even good math. I can't see playing for the tie when it's 90+, a pitcher with 15 pitches and no outs (re: struggling)... Just pissed me off and I knew by the time I would get to the board I'd find a post like this.
I don't like to blame coaching for losses. Beckham DID get the runner over... but he didn't have freedom to pick a pitch and swing, he had to cover the plate with 2 strikes... and Beckham had been red hot lately. It's not like he was in a 3 for 40 stretch or something.

left 16 men on base!CQ is in a shit Oreo, sandwiched between Dunn and Rios. Keep Walker as hitting coach and this team will never even get to the World Series, and I read today if Ozzie stays Walker stays...... sayonara mother fuckers :D

Typically, I think Victor Martinez has been the same from either side, but this season he's scuffling as a RHB vs LHP: .728 OPS vs .848 OPS vs RHP as LHB.

Also, as ya note, just the switch from a tiring starter, who V-Mart has already seen 3 times that game, to a heat throwing reliever might've been enough to get Martinez out.

As nice as it was to win a series against a team in front of you in the standings, when you're up 3-0 in the early going against a pitcher who clearly didn't have much going for him yesterday, you've gotta somehow win that game. This should have been a sweep. One of these next 2 series has to be.
