I honestly don't see it happening.

Me either, but its possible. Thing is, to get a solid acquisition they don't need to be a "buyer." They just need to call up Viciedo or DeAza.

Hypothetical... Frank, you're Ozzie and/or Kenny. What is it you do with Dunn at this point? Stand pat? Keep him in the lineup but drop to 9th? Take away half his ABs over the next 60 games?

Dunn is going to be on the roster for sure. If it were my decision Dunn would play prbably 60% of the games and bat 7th or 8th (NO higher unless he got red hot), and I'd have called up Viciedo in mid June after that awful 2 game stretch in Minnesota and probably DFA'd Pierre.

I'd actually do almost exactly what Frank stated. :thumleft:

I could see DFA'ing Vizquel, but I don't think that would happen out of respect for the man, and because he can play all 3 infield positions and still play them pretty well.

I too would have DFA'd Pierre or Vizquel myself, for Viciedo or De Aza but I am trying to be realistic with what they would do. I like batting Dunn 7th as well. You cannot bench him, we have to still have faith in him. As much as this sucks, this is really the first time in his career anything like this has happened to him. This might end up being a bad year, but he will pick it up at some point.

As for the Sox being buyers, its Kenny Williams. I doubt they make a big move or pickup, but I wouldn't be surprised if something small happens.

 Mercy. I guess he didn't learn from Brian Anderson in 2006. DH your best defensive player (possibly 2nd best behind Beckham)

This is all about winning series now rather than worrying about win streaks. This game tonight is a must win if these mopes want any chance at winning the AL Central. Personally I don't think they will win tonight, but beating the Tigers and the Royals would be a great start.

Once again the "neighborhood play" rears its ugly head.

Dropped 3rd strike followed by a HBP? Is Hawk losing it right now?

Pena and Moustakas couldn't hit Dempster today. Hawk will live to see another inning.

Hawk hasn't been awful tonight.

Stoney has been the guy complaining about calls.

That's why we're here instead of a dugout I guess.

A lot of fans were mad about the so-called "White Flag" trade. But Reinsdorf said at the time that there was no way in hell the Sox were catching Cleveland. I agreed with him then and that's exactly how I feel about this team too. The division is shitty enough that you may keep thinking they can get there, but they won't. It's time to move whatever dead weight you can and get some fresh young arms in here if possible.

Here's the solution to all his problems: Stop acting like a superior bernsteinesque prick and commiserate with the callers about how brutal this $125 million team is.

I think you'd get a tremendous hall for Jackson and Buehrle.

ARMS?
Really?
Arms ain't the problem IMHO. The hitting is god awful and it's killing this team
