They're putting Chance Ruffin (1st rounder last year out of Texas) in for his major league debut with the scored tied and the bases loaded for Carlos Quentin up?!?! Ok.....

Another nice outing from Buehrle. He didn't have his great stuff and he only gave up 2 unearned runs. Now the bullpen needs to get 9 outs.....

I had a couple of belts after work and it's kinda hard to use a superhero theme again because most of them have no words.

The only one I could think of is to replace "Batman" with "Cat Rape" and the "na-na-na-na"s with "meow"s, and lipid is probably the only one who would enjoy that.

This is my fallback should I not be inspired, though I think one could do worse than my idea. Also, don't forget to mentally project the "POW!" signs with the accompanying tri-tone horn sounds (tri-tone? augmented 5ths? I don't feel like thinking about it).

Did Stone just say "Furbush" and "Albuquerque"?

Incidentally, when I came up with the "Cat Rape" title, I was thinking about the old Batman theme song.

Well, that would indicate that, on some level, you're starting to think like me, which pretty much means it's time to kill yourself because it doesn't exactly get better from here .... :drunken: :aaargh:

Bonus points if you also thought of Joey Styles yelling it.

That was a big win and again Ozzie sticks with Sale to start the 9th against a lefty and doesn't automatically go to the 'closer' in a 'save situation.' I FUCKING LOVE THAT!

Tomorrow is Jake Peavy day. 8)

Both of those bloops were deep enough that the CFer should always call off the infielders. Much easier play for the centerfielder coming in to make those catches on the run than for backpedaling infielders. A good CFer calls off everyone and anyone else in the vicinity on anything he has any chance at whatsoever. It's part of the job, the closer of the outfield.

I really thought the first one was Ramirez' ball, but Rios is the guy that has to take charge. He's the centerfielder and he's looking at the play. He should be coming in yelling, "YOU! YOU! YOU!".

Those errors, the one that went in and out of Gordon Beckham's glove that was charged to the White Sox second baseman, and the one that was technically an RBI single off the bat of the Tigers' Jhonny Peralta, were both meant for Alex Rios. The center fielder should've done a much better job of communicating to both Beckham and SS Alexei Ramirez. I'll be interested to see if Ozzie punishes Rios when the lineup comes out tonight vs. Justin Verlander. I think we're seeing what the Blue Jays saw when they decided to put Rios on waivers 2 years ago...

I certainly didn't think the one to Beckham was Rios' ball. Beckham called it all the way. It was an easy play for him. Or should have been.

I disagree. Beckham's error looked a lot harder than it appeared. The effort was there.

The lineup is in for tonight's second of three with the Tigers at "The Cell". There is one noticeable change, and folks, third base has now become a platoon.

1 Juan "2 More Hits, a Run and a Stolen Base" Pierre LF
10 Alexei "A Hit, a Run, an RBI and a Strikeout" Ramirez SS
14 Paul "Hello, Chance Ruffin!" Konerko 1B
32 Adam "2 Walks, Yet Another Strikeout" Dunn DH
20 Carlos "2 Big Hits, 2 Big RBI's" Quentin RF
51 Alex "At Least I Got a Hit" Rios CF
12 A.J. "I Better Get Along with Jake" Pierzynski C
23 Mark "Ozzie, Admit It! Third Base is Now a Platoon!" Teahen 3B
15 Gordon "That Error Wasn't All My Fault" Beckham 2B

Jake "Ozzie! Give Me Flowers Again Behind the Plate!" Peavy starts for the White Sox vs. Justin "These White Sox Aren't That Good" Verlander at 7:10p this eve.
