What a load of shit Kenny's THREATS are.
Kenny's teams have been to the Playoffs two entire times during his bombastic reign.

And one of those appearance resulted in Image

HIP HIP HOOORAY!!!!
Kenny is such a fucking genius.....
The White Sox should be a GENUINE contender in this pathetic Division every year.
Great to see the team get over .500 by August 1 with the fifth highest MLB payroll.
Kenny is a one trick pony....WIN NOW and this idea of this blowhard dismantling the roster is laughable......EVERY season he runs his mouth.

When you're done with him (and it sounds like you are), I'll take him for my Cubs. Kenny is always trying to win. Has he made mistakes? Of course. But no one with his level of aggressiveness is going to avoid mistakes. Dunn has a career .375 OBP and has averaged 40 homes runs a year since the beginning of time. I blame Dunn, not Kenny.

It's not better. Yuu just got something for a guy you weren't going to re-sign. You saved money. Win.

Keyser, they've now got to find an emergency starter for the finale of the Red Sox series this weekend in the wake of this deal, let alone when the Yankees visit "The Cell" next week. After tomorrow's off day, the White Sox play 17 games in a row before their next scheduled off day.

Don't they also have 2 doubleheaders in September? They'll be scrambling around for starters then too unless this Stewart kid can step in. Trading pitching depth = a bad idea.

Do you watch this team? Thinking they could win anything is a fucking pipedream. They got rid of a guy who is not coming back, dumped the salary of a bust in Teahen, opened up a roster spot for your precious Viciedo and got a decent reliever and an okay prospect in return. That's a good deal for the White Sox.

The could land a motherlode for Danks and Floyd and still come back with Buehrle, Sale, Peavy, and Humber going into next season.

To answer a previous question, because of Saturday's rainout in Cleveland, the White Sox do have 2 day-night doubleheaders on tap in September. It'll be definitely be a long day's journey into night on Labor Day at Target Field vs. the Twins, and I think 2 weeks later when the Sox make their last visit to Cleveland's (Not So) Progressive Field vs. the Indians. Will the Indians still be in the race when that twinbill is played?

Bingo 100% correct. That is why Kenny is smart. Besides, this trade hardly impacts the current team. You had 6 starters. Now you have 5.

I could see trading pitching depth for some SOLID hitting, but this was basically pitching for pitching, a salary dump, a "Come watch this team or else" begging move from Jerry, if I may be so bold.

Rosters expand by then. Probably not a big deal guys.

So in the last 2 seasons Jackson has been on the Tigers, D'Backs, WS, Jays and Cardinals? Did I miss anyone?

Was it Dan Hudson they gave up to get Jackson?? he's gone 18-8 since the trade to the Diamondbacks....Until the guys they got in this deal have time to prove themselves it's impossible to judge, but it sure looks like keeping Hudson might have been a lot smarter. Of course, I said that when the move was made-taking on that additional salary was foolish. Will the moves continue now? Or was this a solitary move?

Did anyone else find the "announcement" on Rios a little strange and dumb?
Why say anything? why not just put De Aza out there and give the standard "we'll give time to whomever is playing hot" thing until at least after the trade deadline so as not to KILL all value, or hell you're gonna put him on waivers, don't you want some nitwit to pick him up off that wire?

Omar Vizquel is starting at third base this afternoon in the finale of this series with the Tigers. There's no doubt that Vizquel can still play, but I maintain that he can help a contending ballclub. I'd like to see Vizquel and that #11 put in mothballs so he can finish his Cooperstown-bound career with a chance to play for a World Series ring. With John Danks & Gavin Floyd now on the trade block, you add Vizquel to that deal, I think the White Sox can get more coming back than without him.

The Blue Jays have acquired starter Edwin Jackson and utility man Mark Teahan from the Whtie Sox in return for reliever Jason Frasor and minor-league reliever Zach Stewart. However, sources tell CBSSports.com senior writer Danny Knobler that the Blue Jays are working on sending Jackson to St. Louis in exchange for center fielder Colby Rasmus. According to Joe Strauss of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch the Cardinals will not only get Jackson, but also relievers Octavio Dotel and Marc Rzepczynski. According to sources, there is a tie-up with the money involved in the Cardinals-Blue Jays end of the deal, which is holding the deal up.

Rongey still thinks its dumb to suggest Chris Young is a better player.

The Cardinals will send Rasmus, Trever Miller, Brian Tallet, and P.J. Walters to the Blue Jays for Jackson, Rzepczynski, Dotel, and Corey Patterson. Olney adds that Miller is then expected to be traded to the White Sox.

Trevor Miller to the Sox?? This fucked up deal isn't over yet.

Doesn't seem like the Sox are getting much in return for Jackson

That's what I'm not understanding. Even if Detroit swept, it shouldn't have drastically changed the moves that were or were not going to be made on July 27th.

One of the keys to good management is consistency. The Sox like talk a good game about respect for the player and all that bullshit and then they announce a benching?
