Doesn't fit Martz's offense. Might have to play linebacker.

I like this and the Okoye signing. Now they need to address the OL and I'll be fairly satisfied. They have to bring Kruetz back and they could use a G.

This isn't about Forte, but Chester Taylor may need to update his resume.

Yeah Taylor is out the door. Getting $7M last year will make him feel better about it though.

The days of one running back getting all or 95% of the carries are pretty much over.

Im sure he is happy, considering how much better he is without having to carry the entire offensive load

If Taylor is gone then I like this move. Taylor didnt show me much last year. Hopefully they can use his money to resign Kreutz.

Don't disagree, but this also takes away goal line carries from Forte which equal cash money.

Exactly. Then again, if Martz really wants to run his offense appropriately, Forte coming out for swing passes or in the slot is kind of scary.

I like the signing of Barber a lot. He will be a good change of pace back from Forte, who can not continue the heavy workload. Taylor was a waste of money & I didn't like his signing from day 1.

That was posted pre-signing. Maybe his attitude changed the day the contract was signed (day 1). Maybe he thought the price paid for Taylor was way too much and thusly "didn't like his signing from day one."

This seems like another good signing, but Im wondering why they havent worked on the line more. Is nobody out there that will help them immediately? I'd say other than that Angelo seems to be doing a nice job of quietly improving the team all around so far.

I thought taking a flyer on Taylor for backup money was fine. But I thought Jerry was out of his damn fool mind signing him for $7 Million last year. Paying a journeyman backup player $7 Million is a bad business decision, especially when your #1 RB, who has been a productive workhorse, make $550K. So yea, Taylor was a waste of money & a horrible decision by the Bears.

"Sign Taylor" is different from "take a flier on Taylor" and it's also quite different from "sign a 4 year $12 million dollar deal" as well.

I wanted TJ, but it was apparent that they wanted Taylor. I was ok with signing Taylor until I heard that the Bear were paying him $7 Million. Not real smart of Jerry.

I'd be more inclined to believe you if you made that argument in any of the threads about the signing, you know, back on "Day 1".

I will say a day after posting that I hoped that they resigned Kretuz that Im ok with the fact that they didnt. Sometimes you have to move on and maybe this was one of those times. He wasn't getting younger/better and the fact that he was "such a leader for the offense" doesn't really do much for me. The last few years the O line has sucked so what has he gotten out of his teammates? Harmony? Keep it.
