You are wrong...they got Adams, not Bell.

This is what I saw:

MLB Network
Breaking News: Ken Rosenthal reports the Rangers have acquired Heath Bell (RP) from the Padres. Tune in to MLB Network for more!

If that is incorrect, cool.

Everyone reported it wrong initially.

While I'm not a big fan of ESPN they have this interactive trade deadline chat type thing with up to the second updates from Olney and Bowden. http://espn.go.com/mlb/notebook/_/id/67 ... e-deadline

Not doing a single fucking thing. The entire front office needs to get on a plane...and that plane needs to visit the bottom of the ocean.

Maybe it is for the best? No one wanted Hendry in charge of a fire sale anyways and I am sure everyone would just bitch about any one they got in return.

How does a team with a sub .400 winning percentage have so many untouchable guys?
That un possible.

The Pirates acquired right fielder Ryan Ludwick from the Padres for a player to be named later.

It's pretty cool to see the Pirates as buyers at the deadline. Ludwick isn't having a very good year but he does have 11 HR's and 64 RBI. Being away from Petco and in a slightly better lineup should only help.

Bedard went to a Sox....probably the Sawx not the Sox but it has not been confirmed.

The Mariners traded LHP Erik Bedard to the Red Sox for C Tim Federowicz.

The deal for injury prone Rich Harden fell through so they trade for another injury prone pitcher in Bedard. The Red Sox can obviously take gambles for pitching depth and that's what this is. Federowicz (23) is having a decent year in double A.

edit: looks like this was a 3 way deal involving the Red Sox, Mariners and Dodgers. Red Sox still get Bebard but the Mariners and Dodgers get a bunch of guys.

There is more to this....it was a 3 team deal and involved the Dodgers.

I like Bedard to the Sox. He's been great for about 12 of his last 13 starts. Problem is the Mariners don't score runs. He won't have that problem in Boston. Looks like everything is falling in place for a Phillies vs Sox World Series.

We are poised for a huge turnaround in 2012 with Mike and his staff more experienced. Therefore we will not sell off assets needed for Year III.

What do you plan to do with all of that money next year?

All avenues will be thoroughly explored. Rest assured we will do everything possible to give ourselves a chance next year.

I will sleep well knowing that you have enough funds in the off season to acquire the last remaining white utility infielder that has never played for the Cubs. Jeff Keppinger is going to bring home a championship.

I can't discuss players under contract but versatile middle infielders who can rake against left handers are always of high interest to Mike and I.

This was a very active trade deadline but there were still a few players I thought would be traded. I'm shocked Heath Bell is still a Padre. The Pads will run a HUGE risk if they offer him arbitration thinking they'll just get the draft picks because he may accept and be a $10M closer for a rebuilding team.

I thought the Dodgers would trade Kuroda but he may have nixed a deal. I also thought the Royals would move the Melk-man or Frenchy and the Reds would try to make an upgrade or two.

So the word on the Cubs from the ESPN pregame show is that Hendry feels Reed Cobb and Jeff Baker are part of the future and were untouchable. I am inching ever so closer to finding a new team. Even though they suck the Padres are in the lead, but the Reds, Angels, Pirates and Indians are also in contention.

Reed and Jeff are both hitting over .300 and are valuable members of Mike's bench.

Explain the importance of a bench on a team that is 23 games under .500.

The Cubs should be focused on 2013 or 2014. How good is Jeff Baker going to be at 36? This kind of thinking has made the Cubs the worst-run team in baseball.

Ludwick was a steal for the Pirates. They got him for virtually nothing.

Fister is better than the crap Detroit currently has in the back of the rotation but he certainly isn't the high impact starter this team needed. Pauley is a nice addition to their overused and depleted bullpen.

Martinez was rated as Detroit's 4th best prospect, Wells is a very good defender but not much with the glove and Furbush is probably destined for the bullpen. All in all a pretty blah trade.

The Mariners will receive RHP Chance Ruffin from the Tigers as the player to be named.

Wow. Ruffin really turns this into a good deal for the M's. Ruffin was the 48th player selected last year out of Texas and can not be officially traded until Aug 15. He projects as a late inning reliever and probable closer.

There's a reason why Erik Bedard's now with the Red Sox after Boston was able to pull the trigger on a deal before Sunday's MLB Trade Deadline with the Seattle Mariners. It may have a lot to do with the status of another injured Boston starter.

Clay Buchholz has a stress fracture and is currently on the dreaded 60 day DL for the Red Sox. Although the injury isn't considered career-threatening, doctors have no timetable regarding when Clay returns, but they are hopeful that #11 in Boston colors can return before the MLB Playoffs.

As for Bedard, he's scheduled to start the finale of their 4-game series vs. the Cleveland Indians' Justin Masterson tomorrow at Fenway Park.

Tigers acquired OF Delmon Young from the Twins for LHP Cole Nelson and a player to be named later.

The fuck is up with this bullshit?!? Why are those assholes helping out the other assholes?? Young isn't having a very good year but he's still a better option than Magglio and Andy Dirks. He's arb eligible next season and a free agent in '13. Nelson was a 10th round pick in '10 and projects as a middle reliever. Nelson wasn't listed in John Sickels or Baseball Prospectus' top 20 Tigers prospects lists.

Well, the White Sox & Royals trade all the time, or so it seems. The only thing I can figure is that the Twins trading Delmon Young has to be a sign of surrender trading him within their division to the first-place Tigers.
