After the Sox are swept by the Twins, De Aza and Viciedo along with any other prospects need to be playing.
Listening to Coop this morning made me hate the team even more. These fucking mopes think things are not that bad.

As much as I enjoy a good sweep, I genuinely feel bad for a lot of the guys here who I know are White Sox fans - like Frank Costanza, Keyser Soze, Terry's Peeps, et al.

This is a dead team, which is really sad and inexcusable, particularly in this weak division.

On to The Commonwealth, or as I like to call it: "Wake up time."

Not one White Sox batter drew a walk during the Yankees' sweep.
Thats incredible. I can't say I've ever heard of such a thing in a 4 game series.

They're a reflection of the asshole running the team.

I wasn't really listening but I thought I heard on M&H that not since 1905 has a team not received a bases on balls during a four game series.

I didn't hear that. But, that would be something if it were true. Walks just clog the bases anyway.

That's still a long damn time and a lot of baseball games. Was that for all of baseball or just the Sock? That couldn't be for all of baseball, could it?

That is a long time Reason, but you figure at least 30 at bats per game in a 4 games series is 120 plate appearances over a 4 game series. Not one walk is really hard to do. YOu have to try NOT to walk- or get intentionally walked- for 130, 140, 150 plate appearances.

You figure for only 3 baserunners a game?

Konerko missed the first few games right?

I think it speaks mostly to how unintimidating the Sox lineup is.

Not one time in a four game series did the pitcher think "Im not giving this guy anything to hit"

Thats not good.

I know the blowout worked into it. When your up 10, you throw strikes.

But how in the hell did Burnett walk no one. He walked 9 in his no hitter!

Forget about any other statistic in history. For the bastard A.J. Burnett to not walk you during his regularly scheduled early inning meltdown, you have to be intentionally swinging at pitches that you know are balls.

Fans, last night's winner, Ivan Nova, may make his next start in Triple A, while A.J. Burnett is currently scheduled to lose next Wednesday to the Angels. After all, we wouldn't want to hurt A.J. Burnett's ego, would we?

It was the 3rd occurrence in baseball history. The other 2 were as follows:

1905 Boston Red Sox vs Washington
1968 Red Sox vs White Sox

Well, with all the bad Cub teams I've had the displeasure of watching, I figured it had to be just the Sock. No matter how you slice it, it starts with a bad approach at the plate.

Konerko or no Konerko, the Yankees swept the White Sox in Chicago for the first time since 1976. To make matters worse, 2 of the Yankees' starters who were in danger of losing their starting slots going in, Phil Hughes Tuesday night & Ivan Nova last night, seemed to resemble Cy Young vs. these pathetic White Sox hitters!

A year ago, Nova got his first career win vs. the Sox on a Sunday afternoon when Frank Thomas #35 was retired by the team. Last night, Nova frustrated Sox hitters again, recording 10 K's, 6 hits and 1 run in 7 2/3 innings. SS Alexei Ramirez, RF Carlos Quentin & 2B Gordon Beckham all went 0-for-11 combined last night with 6 of Nova's 10 strikeouts. Not to be outdone, Adam Dunn got another one before a meaningless homer in the bottom 9th that made the final 7-2. Whoopee friggin da!

Shark!, Adam "The Oaf" Dunn had three (3) hits in fourteen (14) official plate appearances this week (.214). By my math, therefore, he actually raised his season average. He had two (2) weak singles in addition to the aforementioned meaningless home run. On the plus side, he only struck out five (5) times, an average of only 1.25 strikeouts per game.

Shark!, have you ever seen a worse free agent acquisition?
