Have your pencils and scorecards ready. Major League Baseball has announced its 2011 Postseason Schedule.

For the first time since the 1915 World Series, MLB will start its Postseason on a Friday this year. Both American League Division Series will begin Friday, September 30th, while both National League Division Series starting up Saturday, October 1st. Got all that so far? Just like last year, Turner/TBS Sports HD, as well as TNT in event of scheduling overlaps, will broadcast every Division Series game as well as ESPN Radio nationally.

As far as the League Championship Series are concerned, FOX Sports HD has exclusive coverage of the American League Championship Series, while TBS Sports HD has the National League Championship Series. The ALCS starts Saturday, October 8th with the NLCS starting up Saturday, October 9th. ESPN Radio will have exclusive national coverage of both LCS matchups as well.

Last but not least, FOX & ESPN Radio will have exclusive national coverage of the 2011 World Series starting Wednesday, October 19th. Should the "Fall Classic" go the full 7 games, Game 7 is scheduled for Thursday, October 27th. It would be a far cry from last year's World Series between the Giants & Rangers. San Francisco & Texas didn't finish the 2010 World Series until November.

"All that so far?"

You told us when 2 goddam series start.

In fact, the most confusing thing about the entire post is trying to sift thru the useless info that you have put in there. You could have kept it very simple; "NLCS, on TBS, starts Oct 9th"

Much less confusing that way.

Easy big fella.

It will be weird for the playoffs to start on a friday. I guess I'm going to have to clear my dance card for that night so I can watch exciting White Sox baseball.

Well, this MLB regular season started on a Friday for the first time since the Bicentennial year of 1976. Regardless of when the MLB Postseason starts, the part of this that sucks is that most of the games will air at NIGHT, likely starting at times that might not be good enough for younger viewers to stay up and watch.

A few years ago, those numbskulls in "Commissioner" Allan H. Selig's office had a Cardinals/Diamondbacks' Division Series game starting at 10p(!) and on a channel not exactly accustomed to MLB either, ABC Family, DIRECTV 311. The game was at Chase Field in Phoenix, but still...

Starting on Friday is preparing for the 3-game Wild Card series that will be starting on Mondays or Tuesdays in the future. Get ready for division winners getting byes too.
