I agree somewhat. They are in the top 10. Mechanical Resonance is one of my all time faves. In fact I listened to it yesterday driving from Ottumwa to Illinois . But that was their best. They got a little less listenable after that IMO. "Signs" was better when The Five Man Electrical Band did it. "Were No Good Together" and "Gettin Better" are outstanding songs.

could any guy unfairly live in someone else's shadow than jakob dylan and his own father? unfortunately, his songs will go unnoticed because of the surprisingly overproduced sound they have; but if you listen to the lyrics, jakob had even more insight in some cases than his own father, certainly about self-doubt, and he had more self-awaredness.

check out "up from under" if you want to hear one of the sweetest songs ever. it's like honey on the ears.

Tesla has to be on the top 10 list of "Ugliest" groups ever, and their music sucks too.

WZ Walflowers is a good one.
I think Rainbow is over shadowed by the bands surrounding them but they where awesome when they where at the top of their game.Did not matter who was singing they could belt out the metal like no one else.

SD, try "the mollusk" and "white pepper". "the mollusk" could be considered a concept album, and "white pepper" is probably their most heavily "produced" album. it's very clean and includes some great tunes. it's also not as crazy as some of their earlier efforts.

Do you really think I haven't heard those songs? None of them is better than "All Right Now". There's a reason why, after almost forty years, you can still find "All Right Now" within about fifteen minutes of searching for it on the radio. It seems as if you're trying to fashion yourself as some kind of retro hipster by suggesting some more obscure songs are greater or better than the band's biggest hit. And that just isn't the case.

Jellyfish and Titanic Love Affair.
Both came out about the same time.
Both made some of my favorite records I've ever heard.
Charisma Records really fucking dropped the ball on these 2 bands.

Jellyfish was great. Spilt Milk is one of the greatest records of all time. I own nearly everything that Jason Falkner, Roger Joseph Manning, Eric Dover, & Andy Sturmer released after Jellyfish broke up. If you like Jellyfish, listen to Jason Falkners solo records. He's great. Also, there were 2 Jellyfish spinoff bands, Imperial Drag, & The Grays, & they are really good too.

I saw Jellyfish at least 3 times, Aragon (opeinging for the Crowes), Summerfest (weird bill with Violent femmes and Fishbone) and at Metro.
Saw Jason open for Mercury Rev. Sadly I never saw the Grays. But I did play drums with Jon Brion back in 2000 at Largo and I have plenty of photographic evidence.

We will disagree. Retro hipster? That is priceless. I was listening to Free when you were in Pampers. The reason All Right Now gets all the play is because it is the only song the kids of the 80's and beyond know.

I don't think they are underrated in the general sense but a lot of people overlook the
overall catalog of The Band. They know them as the band that sung "The Weight" but
they did so much more than that. Maybe the elders can put me in my place on this one
but I know a lot of people 30 or younger don't even know who these guys are.
