Oh my god. Gregg's fastball was 88-92 and straight. Should have killed him.

And yes, Visquel shouldn't have batted. Not only could Alexei have taken him deep with 2 outs, but even if he didn't you want him in there for defense in this tie game. Stupid.

We'd have the lead right now had in not been for Omar's lack of range.

Vizquel batting that late in the game was horrible, as was the team's best player being out of the game and on the bench in extra innings. Guillen's fourth grade education is more apparent each day.

Vizquel has no business being out there.

However, Humber looks like he has ran out of magic dust. I don't think the Sox can count on him anymore. I would like to see how Stewart does a few more times and/or go to a 4 man at some point and move Humber to the pen or see what they can get on the waiver wire. It would have been a slaughter today if it were not against the Os. Humber was terrible.

Anyways, the Sox just need to win tomorrow. I think they do. Rios has came back from the dead and that is having a big impact. Its all dependent on how this team plays. Nothing Ozzie, Herm, Coop, Nieves, Walker can do to make them stay hot. We just have to hope they stay clicked. At least the offense looks like it will be able to battle from now on.

They have gained ground. I would rather have Cleveland beat Detroit rather than the other way around. I like our chances against them better, though I think the Sox can handle either team if they keep playing like this.

Also, I hope they give Dunn a break. I am sick of hearing meatballs bitch about him "not trying" or "not hustling". If only that were the case. I have not seen him dog it at all this year. Hopefully he does something this year but I doubt it. He feels worse about it than you do, no matter how big of a die sox white fan you are. Booing anybody on this team is stupid, it cannot help and can only hurt.

Now, he has said he is going to change his routine and show up in better shape next year. If he does not do this than I think people can start to bitch about him.

It seems like everytime Omar Vizquel plays, regardless if it's at third base for Brent Morel, second base for Gordon Beckham or shortstop for Alexei Ramirez, Ozzie thinks that the 44 year-old Vizquel gives his team a spark whenever he's in the lineup, but the Trib's Mark Gonzales had a stat in his postgame wrapup of the 6-4 loss that might debunk that. In fact, the White Sox are only 20-19 in games that Vizquel's in the starting lineup this season and it appears as if age might be catching up with the Sox' senior citizen.

Ozzie is respecting his team right into missing the playoffs. They're not good anyway so I'm not sure I can be too upset about it. But if that is Joe Dokes, with the same numbers and abilities that Vizquel currently has, coming to bat in the ninth with Ramirez on the bench, Ozzie pinch hits for him. Don't tell me all you care about is winning when you let Vizquel bat with Ramirez on the bench.

It's one thing for Omar Vizquel to start the ballgame, regardless if it's at third, shortstop or second. It's another to have Ozzie keep Alexei Ramirez and/or Gordon Beckham on the bench for the whole game...

I wonder if Ozzie kept Alexei on the bench because of the nonchalant error he made on tuesday. He's been much better at keeping his head in the game but that one was pretty bad.

Agreed. We're at the point in the season where each game is giant. It's like the World Series if you think you can really win the division. That even means a starter may have to finish a game and we worry about the rotation tomorrow. That's what "all in" means to me.

Omar displayed some real stellar defense in the 2nd inning yesterday...

There's a big difference between physical errors and mental errors.

I get that. But I think Orr is right. The biggest mental error so far in this series was letting Vizquel hit in the 9th last night.

Tillman was part of the Erik Bedard trade and the O's thought they got an absolute steal when he had some big years in the minors but he has really struggled in his brief time in the bigs. He's still young (23) and has time to improve but until that happens he's meat and the Sox should be able to put some runs on the board tonight.

  Geez, you weren't kidding. Sometimes at least with a young guy you can tell they have good stuff. This Tillman looks like he is in WAY over his head at this point.

Yeah let's be generous and say at this point Tillman's stuff is 'lacking'.

Juany stealing in a 6-0 game?? Suck on that, Buck.

I would say great job by Buehrle but everytime I say that Ozzie runs the starter out there for another inning.
