Divorced.

I thought I heard him say he recently got married again. If so, he's intent on putting up a good front.

The Steve Stone to the Score for 100k is the radio equivalent of the Soriano deal with the Cubs. The Score was bidding against nobody and gave him 3X more than what he would have accepted.

Mitch will now be remembered for two horrible moves. The Stone signing and this...Image

Stone was on fire today trying to make Hendry look like an idiot. He wrote out an outline of his thoughts before hand and just kept going.

I refer back to my statement of the guy who is now just stalking the hot ex GF

I'm a Sox fan and think he sucks.

I don't think Cubs fans loved him when he was with the Cubs. I just think it was the media that said Cubs fans loved him. It was also Steve Stone that said Cubs fans loved him. It was also Steve Stone that said Steve Stone is a smart baseball man.

That's how the myth got started. I figured it out.

I have finally figured it out. Beardown isn't Tall Midget. He is Kent Merker.

Let me know when the little stone pony rips Kenny, Rios, Dunn and Beckham. Them you can talk about homers. Stone needs the money, he's pissed away most of his.

You must have forgotten how many of them called in saying he was "the best in the business" and talking about how great his "first guesses" were.

The callers' tone toward Stone has changed quite a bit in the last five years. You don't have the Cubs fans prefacing every call with how he's the most brilliant baseball mind in the world and he never should've left and ohmygod it's just such an honor to talk to the man they grew up watching and on and on and on. Now, with the Sox underachieving themselves, you have people calling in almost daring him to analyze the Cubs without pumping up the sub-.500 Sox who themselves are doing a fine job of spending lots of money to be bad.

He was good and he did first guess quite a bit compared to most color guys.

He first guessed Dusty through the entire choke job of 04.

I wouldnt pitch to Valentin (while he's in the on deck circle in the 10th of a tie game the cubs desparately need....4 minutes later....double to take the 2-1 insurmountable lead)

He was also incredibly able to predict pitch sequences somtimes 2 or 3 pitches down the line

I know those are just a couple examples but he was good. I dont think cub fans are biased towards their home announcer as much as you are against anything Cub JORR.

Like all those Cub fans that said Lee waa better than Pujols? Come on Son! If anybody said that they should have been dismissed as not a baseball fan. Dont pretend actual cub fans thought that.

Stone has lost a bit with time, probably because he's old and just doesnt care as much anymore.

I'm not sure what you're saying, Bryan. He was good, but now he's bad? He's the same dope. He's just a color guy. No baseball genius. He wasn't great as a Cub guy. He isn't great as a Sox guy. Sort of like his pitching.

Maybe you've forgotten 2005, but on any Cub message board you could find many goofs suggesting Lee was better than Pujols. "Lee plays defense too!" Lee had a good year in '05. But that's why the average fan is a moron. Almost every guy who plays long enough has a good year at some point. Today's fan just gets so excited when he does. I also remember guys saying Johan Santana would be "the best ever". Now he's a bum.

Finally, it's pretty clear that most Cub fans loved Stone when he was announcing Cub games. I don't care about Cub announcers. I almost never watch Cub games and you don't see me commenting in Cub game threads.

Well, if you just look at what Lee did that single year, it probably wasn't absolutely outlandish to put him in that conversation.

Then which is it JORR? Were they goofs or were they onto something with the evidence they had at the time?

I'm not waffling, Darkside. You have to be able to know what you're watching. Just because Pablo Ozuna hits .408 in 50 at-bats it doesn't mean you should install him in the three-hole as an everyday player. Derrek Lee has had a good career. I never thought he was as good as Konerko, although he had stretches when he was better. And that isn't because of the teams that they played for either. Today's fan gets so excited so easily. Every guy has to be "THE BEST EVER". It doesn't work that way. Most fans would probably be disappointed if Castro turned out to be Dunston. But odds are good he won't even be that.

They're goofs. Lillibridge is having a better season than Dunn. He's not better than Dunn.

Who gives a shit about your analogy? You said, and I called you on it, that people were saying that Lee was better that Pujols in 2005, which I think is really stupid, even for 2005. First you said goofs said that, then you said "well maybe they were justified". I ask which is it any you start telling fairy tales.
I don't mind you not knowing what you're talking about. It's part of your charm frankly, and I always enjoyed it.

For the record, at the conclusion of 2005, Pujols had 4 years with an OPS over 1 and Lee had 1 in which he was barely over 1. The single year that Albert didn't do that was a .955 OPS which is way higher tha Lee's average.
So I say again, anyone saying that is baseball stupid. Even in 2005.
So I don't know who you're hanging with but they're probably not worth reading.

No, I said a lot of goofs thought Lee was better than Pujols in 2005. That means saying shit like, "I wouldn't take Pujols over Lee". You said anyone who thought such a thing should be shot. I guarantee you had no idea what either of them did that season because, like most people, you don't know much. You can look shit up on the Internet though. I replied that Lee had a good season in '05 which was the basis for the goofy thoughts. That's all. There's no "who ya crappin'" there. Most everyday players have stretches, even seasons, where they look like the best guys that ever played. That's the nature of the game. Knowing where they realistically fit is part of being an intelligent fan. Now shove my fucking analogy up your ass.

Knowing where they realistically fit is part of being an intelligent fan. Now shove my fucking analogy up your ass.

Yeah, Lee had a good season in 2005. Pujols had 4 better ones before that. That's a 5 year stretch. And Lee was pretty good in 05. But he barely got up to Pujols averages that year.
Look at you... I'm just kinda fuckin around but you sure got mad. Chill dude.
I would love to see some of these 2005 comments though, cause once again, even for 2005, I cant imagine ANYONE saying that, no matter how goot Lee's 2005 was, because by then Pujols was much younger, hitting for a ton more power, and doing it consistantly, and Lee was not.
I'm sorry you're wrong.

Many that is true, but an incomplete statement.

I'm not sure what you think I'm wrong about. You get all aggressive and then you switch to "I'm fuckin' around" mode. I only acknowledge what you post. I have no idea about your intentions.
