This is what I choose to believe. Once he's up to speed, he goes in and Garza moves over.

But that's not a perfect solution either. It solves the weakening-two-positions problem, but it also disrupts the continuity of the line, and given Tice's comments about the starters I figured that was a mistake they were loath to repeat.

I believe I heard that Spencer was rated in the bottom third of centers in the league.

Now that some time has passed since Olin was forced out, the more I think about the Bears center situation, the more risky this move appears. Spencer is just a guy, & Garza has played 1 NFL game at center. I'm not sure why the Bears decided to play hardball with Olin, but this could come back to haunt them.
It's not like Jerry doesn't know what he's doing when it comes to personnel decisions.

I don't know as I heard the ranking. However, even if Olin was 32nd the transitional costs would make him Spencer's equal.

They said Cutler is in great shape. I think he's gonna have to be to stay alive. This line is gonna blow.

Jay looks like he lost 15 pounds or so. He doesn't look ass pudgy ass he used to. I'm going off the top of my head here, but I think Jay has been sacked more times in the last 2 years than any other QB in the NFL. The Martz offense, no shotgun, & this OL make it a good bet that the trend will continue.

Not sure why you think it will be better. It was pretty bad last night. I'm hoping Spencer is okay and will end up at center. Garza is no good there and I have a feeling Webb will be pretty bad too.

i agree about spencer being the center and moving garza back to guard...and i think it will happen...it will be better because it could not have gotten worse than last year..and i honestly think spencer is an upgrade over kreutz

In my world that's the ultimate compliment. I don't think a guy is a but just because he didn't stick to where you drafted him. If he turns out to be a great G then it was a good pick.

Good reasoning. I suppose if the Bears moved Cutler from quarterback to tight end, that would be a huge compliment, too.

Seriously, where do you come up with this stuff?

This may surprise you but a lot of players don't play the same position they played in college. Offensive lineman are at the top of that list.

Let the games begin! We have your first prediction that will be likely be wrong for this season.

This may surprise you, but being moved from tackle to guard is not a "compliment."

The compliment was being the opposite of Scorehead. Apparently that went over your head.

Your capacity to misunderstand sarcasm almost eclipses Webb's ability to whiff on blocks.
