Who does he think visits Northtonorth.com? Without the "internet people", he wouldn't reach a wide varity of listeners.

Bernstein was ripping on internet chatboards the other day as well. Maybe the office is a little tense these days.

Hell, if I were him, and he knows that they're not gonna give him an extension (HEY HEY!), I'd just roll out of bed and work from home too.

Plus he doesn't have to worry about management types telling him face to face what to do, while they go behind his back and do other sordid things.

Yep, basically his argument is that the people on these boards wouldn't be saying half the things they are if they had to give their real names instead of an alias.

While I do agree with that, I also think that the discussion specifically on their show is right on - they do bring intelligent discussion most days, but they have little/no respect for most callers/fans. They hardly ever disagree on anything, Boers is ultra negative on everything, and there are way too many drop-ins. Who You Crappin is still a good feature, although me personally can't stand the petty craps that some have, or the books that some people read.

Obviously, a lot of the focus for their show goes back to the negativitiy, and that's what Bernstein is referring to.

One of the points he made was the annonymity of the internet allows a person to be someone he is not. My response to that would be that the anonymity allows people to be exactly who they are.

On the other hand, the internet does allow you to create a false character, which can be absolutely entertaining. AF aka PB almost never broke character when he posted here and it was funny.

Well the argument goes both ways.... These people who sit behind microphones become a persona that many do not act like in real life... AKA Howard Stern.

You think Howard Stern has the balls to tell people in real life to take off there clothes... Most of these radio guys are taking on a persona which is most of the times over the top and not reflective of there off air real life persona.

Yes, but dan was talking about accountability. The radio host is minimally accountable for the things he says. The internet poster is not.

Ok, but when people email into their show and use "rodeovann, Gridironassasin or whoever, thats ok? I ripped Jordan through emails for years on their show using this name, does that make me spinless? Like I said before, the reason they hate message boards is because they cannot have the last word or hang up on someone.

Dan and Terry's show is great, but they are wrong on this and they look bitter when this subject comes up.

So you are saying that the real reason dan would like accountability is not because it would result in truth, but rather it would result in the ability to control. I can see that point.

Accountability? Sort of like when Dan and Terry don't have the balls to say something so they hide behind their 'peeps' or like how he started Larry Horse in interviews?

Or like ripping on Bill Parcells and Phil Jackson for years and then when the two were actually in the stuido, they couldnt get their lips off their butts. Thats when I lost respect for those two and then when someone calls them on it, all terry could say was "well, it wasnt the right time". Terry and Dan are no different then any other radio person, all talk until they get face to face with the person, then its run and hide time.
