I'm sort of getting bored with MW2. If these new maps suck, I may be getting this soon...

God help me, I better have a video game waiting for me at home. Those fuckers have taken more than enough time to send that game from Hong Kong.

Finally have confirmation that my copy is now in Naperville.

Only 7802 miles, 116 hours, 28 minutes later.

Ready to go when you are. I finally unlocked everything on Medic, Vehicles, and Recon. Just need a bit more for both Assault and Engineer. Assault is a painful class until you open up the Red Dot. My suggestion is to start off as a Medic. You can rack up tons of points reviving soldiers and giving them health. And the LMG's are pretty powerful even with the iron sight.

Well if you thought ahead and kept them all in cages we wouldn't have this problem.

I am enjoying the different types of multiplayer games and objectives, and I certainly agree that this title is much more strat-based in comparison to MW2. Personally, sniping in BFBC2 is 10x more enjoyable than in MW2 once you get the hang of it. I have only played an hour or so of the single-player mission, but so far I have enjoyed the voice acting and storyline.

Overall, while I will always prefer MW2, this title was certainly worth the long wait from ordering it online overseas.

I tried to go back to MW2 after BC2 and I just can't do it. I feel waaaaaaay too constrained on MW2 now. On BC1, I primarily played Conquest as opposed to Gold Rush (called Rush on BC2). But they have made Rush so much fun now that I like that better now. I've leveled up all of the classes now. That M16 for Assault is nice. Still love the PKM and M60 for the Medic class a ton. And for Sniper the semi automatics with a Red Dot are alot of fun... like a more powerful semi-automatic Assault rifle. Glad you are enjoying it.

Still really enjoying this game, even if there are a few things that have been bothering me as of late:

1) The respawn-by-your-squad option. Nothing like getting into a firefight with an attacker just in time to have two other guys suddenly pop up behind him.

2) Sniper reload. While it is probably extremely accurate, it is still pretty damn frustrating when trying to pop off a few shots in a small amount of time.

3) Squad chatter only. This has been talked about at length already, but I really wish I could bark a few orders at my entire team.

My friend let me "borrow" this game and have played it non stop yesterday.Couple of things that I noticed that irk the hell out of me.
1) The maps are fucking HUGE, takes forever to get some action spend half of the time running around looking for someone. 2) The controlling of the tanks and choppers is wierd, guess just takes some time to get used to.

Yeah, I have to agree on both accounts. The maps are made a little smaller with the use of a vehicle, but like you point out, sometimes it is almost better to control a running soldier.

I should be on from about 5:00pm to 9:00pm this evening. So put those kids to bed early and kill Russians with me.

I've been playing a ton of squad deathmatch:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6uFU8utiaA&feature=related

Smaller map. Quicker game. It's a blast when you have 3 great players to play with. And you get to play against 3 other squads of 4 players. By the end of the round, most likely the entire battlefield is very close to being leveled as all the sniper spots have been decimated by C4, RPGs or grenade launchers. It also solves the problem of not being able to talk to the ENTIRE team in a normal game of Conquest or Rush. Squad Rush is also very fun. Same thing, but its a 4v4 Rush game. Normally 1 M-Com station to blow up instead of two to advance to the next point.

Ya I have been playing alot of the squad rush lately and have been enjoying the strategy based game play. However it does suck when you or you and one other player are the only ones on a team going against 4 guys. Seems like that happens alot to me lately

Yeah... it can get pretty lopsided if you don't have a full team. Usually I'll jump in a regular rush mode with my buddies from PGL and then when we get 4, we'll jump into a squad deathmatch or squad rush game. My gamertag is the same as it is here, so add me to the friends list and we'll frag. ;)

From a points-perspective, I'm not really sure why anyone would want to play any kits other than medic or engineer. Racking up Squad Heal points and Repairs means easy leveling.

Once you unlock everything there is some good reason to play recon. The snyperskai special rifle with the red dot is amazing. It's like an ultra powerful assault rifle. Major problem is you run out of ammo quick. And those remote spotting beacons are great if you know where to throw them. Finally, I've had alot of luck putting a couple C4s on a tank and getting a bunch of double and triple kills. I'm with you on Assault class... but you can get a bunch of points resupplying your squad/team. But its hard to rationalize using an assault rifle when an Uzi or UMP seems to do just as much damage. The XM8 and M16 are very good, though.

We've been playing Squad Deathmatch lately. 4 or 5 teams, all fighting each other for the top spot. Great action and the entire battlefield looks demolished after you are done with the round. Nothing better than bringing the house down on a camping sniper.

The motion sensors are pretty cool for the recon class, and I have thoroughly enjoyed throwing mortars at a building I know is housing 3 or 4 enemies.

I enjoy Squad Deathmatch as well, but it doesn't seem to offer nearly enough XP.

Go play the game and then come back and let me know what you think. I don't disagree that on some WOPR super computer there are better looking games. I think it looks and plays very good. If you just want pretty, Crysis 2 is a blast... but unfortunately i can't get anyone to play that one either.

Do you play them on a computer or on your TV? I feel weird gaming at my desk with bills stacked all around me. I'd much rather jump on the coach and play on the 42 inch.

My TV has gaming mode (most do now) which improves the response pretty meaningfully... I say pretty meaningfully, but really we are talking about fractions of a second. The good thing about console gaming is that you know everyone has essentially the same hardware, which takes away one element of inequity in online gaming. Obviously the network connection is the other (main) variable, which affects both computer and console gaming.
