TAMPA, Fla. — New York Yankees right-hander Mark Prior has been scratched from his scheduled minor league appearance because of shoulder discomfort.

The converted reliever was slated to pitch in a Gulf Coast League game on Tuesday.

Prior has struggled with shoulder injuries and his last major league appearance came in August 2006. The 30-year-old went 18-6 with a 2.43 ERA in 30 starts for the NL Central champion Cubs in 2003.

Prior has made six appearance with the Yankees' rookie-level club since August 5 as part of a rehab program for a strained groin. He hurt the groin in April while pitching at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

There is no timetable for when Prior will pitch again

Christ, you haven't pitched in the majors in 5 years, gonna be 6 years if you don't pitch til next year which is a certainty.
Forget it man, you DO NOT HAVE what it takes to pitch in the Majors.
Find a new vocation.

Mark, someone with your qualifications would have no trouble finding a top-flight job in either the food service or housekeeping industries.

He should open a gift and collectible/knick knack shop, duck themed.

Is he still the best towel thrower around?

Wow a Prior and a Pie thread in the same day. Hendry was sure an awesome talent evaluator. So sad to see him go.

Whatever. Prior sucks. Hendry sucks. I wish both of them nothing but the worst in their future endeavors.

I love David Lee Roth. I think I had said in that Frontmen thread that he was to me the ultimate front man.

SPEAKING OF DLR and the MIGHTY Van Halen!

I actually have a VHS tape of Van Halen's 83 US festival performance....Roth was wasted, Eddie was wasted, the midgets were out....Roth couldn't remember the lyrics and is so smashed they take him backstage to "fix him up" and Eddie has to play Eruption 3 times. Rock n' Roll motherfuckers.

Check out that one. The very close to break-up show in Montreal where Roth takes a monster leap of the drum-kit and the crowd goes fucking nuts, also the shows from Oakland (fucking awesome), Largo and pretty much any DLR era Van Halen video.

Oh, and before Eddie went on to gay up the band with his pop/synth sensibilities....Alex really rocked on the drums, he actually rocked even when the band sucked but he was totally killin' it when DLR was keeping the band on a solid R&R course for glory.

You gotta give credit where credit is due.

They hit their high water mark when the Cubs used "jump" to open the WGN telecast of MLB.
