Happy to announce that I'm joining Ch. 5 as a part-time contributor for sports Sunday w/ @paulafaris, @peggykusinski & Mike Adamle.

LoHo is a full time employee of WSCR which is owned by CBS. Why would they let him work part time for a competitor like NBC? I would think that an employee of one network would be contractually prohibited from working for another network at the same time.

CBS doesn't have an affiliate in Chicago so it doesn't matter.

Sir considers Paula Farris to be like a sister to him...a tan, cute, fit sister.

I can't remember the last time I heard a guy use the "like a sister" line. It probably was high school. Nobody ever seemed to have a sister relationship with an ugly girl.

She's "like a sister" to him because she finds the thought of having sex with him gross and icky, not unlike most sisters would think about their brother.

I didn't see an interview. What was he trying out for profesionally? Was it baseball? Was it one of those tryouts that many teams run and let anyone participate? If so that is an embarrassment to even discuss.

I'm fairly certain that no one from De Paul has ever played professionally in MLB or its affiliates. It's purely a club sport.

sounds like a brilliant strategy, send the worst employee to a competitive station and their ratings suffer

Yeah, there is a whole thread on this by BigFan

My apologies though, I was referring to his radio show last night.

Cross promotion, Old Man River. WSCR 670 The SCORE and CBS2 are owned by the same corporate giant, and LoHo does that stupid, pointless chat with Megan or Ryan Baker following the 9p "Scoreboard Update" on nights there's no White Sox game.

I can accept the Sir I heard yesterday, admitting that he is the least wild reporter at Bears camp. I'm not even talking about being self deprecating. Recognize who you are and be unapologetic about it.

You're half right. He needs to recognize who he is and constantly apologize for it.

Consider yourselves warned about 5 days in advance. Laurence Holmes will be co-hosting NBC5's "Sports Sunday" late Sunday night with Paula Faris. I'm not sure the exact time, because NBC has another preseason "Sunday Night Football" game on its air this weekend. Al Michaels, Cris Collinsworth & new "SNF" sideline reporter Michele Tafoya will be on the call at Overstock.com Coliseum for the Raiders' home game vs. the Saints starting at 7p.

Here's one thing that Laurence does occasionally do that I dont like. Any sort of intellectual superiority he exhibits is in bad form. I mean unless its literally a caller saying Trade Dunn for Pujols or The Bears just dont want it enough, he comes off like a wanna be smart jag off.

Its rare. Laurence knows his limits.

Copied, pasted, emailed to Laurence. Start running now and you might make it...

I called the man Larry to his face.

Did he cry or threaten to call his momma?

They don't care, it gives them some limited exposure to the station. Heck, they let the ever lazy Mac show up on that show before, when he thought he was important. Now Mac isn't even invited to his own retitled split show. LOL.

My favorite Larry Holmes memory. This was when he was hosting late at night, maybe even early Sunday morning. This goes back a long ways.

A caller was giving him crap saying he doesn't know what he is talking about. Larry gets all flustered and starts trumpeting his AIR award. "I have an AIR award!! Do you have one, no, i didn't think so. SO get one before you try to bring it again."

Good ole Larry and his AIR award. THey handed those things out like sampes, i think I even got one by accident.

Christ. The weirdo that propositions female Score callers is hosting tonight. Subbing for Paula. She must have read the "Larry story" thread and refused to work with him as a guest. I don't blame her. Good for you, Paula.

From Bernstein's twitter last night:

Quote:
Somebody needs to know what mics to turn on/off for a sports tease on @nbc5Chicago. Come on. @LHolmes670 @cst_Cowley @peggykusinski

Did Adamle just call @LHolmes670 "Laurence Home?" WTF?

This NBC5 thing now...oy. Wow.

This is a production/Adamle issue. @LHolmes670 should get quadruple pay for holding this together.

Those Clark Kent glasses make @cst_Cowley look smart. ish.

And LoHo is with Bernstein today, and since 'himself' is Lawrence's favorite topic they'll likely discuss it.
