Two topics for the price of one. In a moment, I've got news regarding Notre Dame Football broadcasts staying and possibly going. First up, CBS Sports has announced its NFL pairings for the 2011 season. Have your pencil & scorecards ready as they are listed below:

1. Jim Nantz/Phil Simms
2. Greg Gumbel/Dan Dierdorf
3. Ian Eagle/Dan Fouts
4. Marv Albert/Rich Gannon
5. Kevin Harlan/Solomon Wilcots
6. Bill Macatee/Steve Tasker
7. Spero Dedes/Steve Beuerlein
8. Don Criqui/Randy Cross

James Brown continues to host "The NFL Today" pregame from New York, with analysts Bill Cowher, Dan Marino, Shannon Sharpe, Boomer Esiason, Charley Casserly & feature reporter Lesley Visser.

As for Notre Dame football, it was learned that 890 WLS-AM will continue to broadcast every single game, complete with Chet Coppock's local pregame show, for 3 more years. Don Criqui & Allen Pinkett will continue to paint the picture for Irish football games on WLS locally. The Citadel Broadcasting-owned news/talk outlet will continue to broadcast as many as 25 basketball games this winter including postseason. However, it might be a slightly different story for Notre Dame football on TV next year.

According to Crain's Chicago Business blogger Ed Sherman, while every Notre Dame home football games will continue to be broadcast on NBC this season, there's a possibility that home games from South Bend might be relocating next year. NBC Sports Chairman Mark Lazarus is mulling over possibly moving 1-2 Notre Dame home games off regular NBC and onto the channel currently known as VERSUS, soon to be renamed NBC Sports Network in January. Lazarus said that airing Notre Dame football on NBCSN might help distribution of the soon-to-be renamed network with cable operators. VERSUS, by the way, can be found on DIRECTV 603, also likely to be the new home of NBC Sports Network and in HD where available. Notre Dame football has been on NBC since 1991.

It's not a very good one for a textual place like the interwebs.
