The fact Chester Taylor was left out of the Titans game tells me the Bears did not want him injured before they release him. He was kept around solely as insurance in case Forte decided to sit out.

Or they wanted to run Bell as much as possible for him to earn the job from Taylor.

Letting Taylor go does hurt though as you then paid him $6 Mill for one season. Ouch.

Gotta keep the best players and everyone has outplayed him.

Bell looks better and better each game.

On the pregame Jerry sounded like they were indeed trying to get Forte's deal done before the start of the season.

Why would they care if Taylor got hurt before they release him? If he was trade-bait, then it'd be a worry...

IMO, they have been trying to deal Chester all pre-season with no luck, and will cut him pretty soon here.

Can't release a player if he is injured

Yes, you can waive/injured a player. Bears just did it yesterday with that CB Holmes.

You have to come to some kind of injury settlement but it is commonly done.

exactly, you have to pay them to leave when they are injured..pay them nothing when you cut a healthy player..dez clark was not going to make the team
