I wonder what Larry's mom thinks of all this.

There is a "sister". What's lacking is a "defense".

Doc: Say it ain't so, Lo Ho. Say it ain't so.

Larry: It be so. It be so. What you gonna do, MFer?

Doc:

Seriously Doc, you have daughters, right? How would you feel if they grow up, call into the Score to talk Illini hoops, then have the host invite them to "chill at his house"? What's this world coming to? Women aren't even safe calling sports radio shows. How would all of you parents with daughters feel about that? Let's have a round table discussion like Larry once did on race and racism.

Obviously she didn't do that great of a job of raising him as Larry has told us all these years. No mother is proud of a son doing this. If she ever found out she'd be just as disgusted as me.

This is also the type of story that Bernstein would be all over if it were a ESPN radio host. He loves these type of stories and would absolutely destroy the guy on the air. Bernstein loves informing the audience of deadspin stuff from ESPN people. I'm sure drinky and Goff will inform him of this as we all know they've read this thread. Bernstein won't say anything but he'll think less of Larry. We all know he would find this deporable.

Yeah. I know. You'd still be offended if a talk show host did this to your daughter. Any father would be. That's the main point.

How about this one? What would Larry think if somebody did this to his mom? There. I win.

It was a first thought, but the lack of name and desire to go see the guy afterwards, with the "ewww" convinced me.

The Chicago radio landscape is filled with stories of DJs picking up women on the air. Dahl openly admitted to it and said it was one of the reasons he stuck with radio as a teenager. Good for Sir. I'd be doing the same thing.

I agree with those who recognize that some random skank who agrees to come over to Sir's condo based exculusively on an e-mail was knobbing him within minutes of getting in the door. Thumbs down to you bigfan for not stopping the story at that point and calling bullshit. I also agree that there was no sister. This was a girl who enjoyed the natural wonders of Big Sir, wasn't getting a call back and started stalking the guy.

In conclusion, Lawrence has earned my respect and I think he showed quite a bit of what you youngsters call "game."

The one question that hasn't been asked: did bigfan close the deal with this girl? We'll soon be hearing about bigfan showing up with the girl at Lawrence remotes.

This was the worst story ever.

It may be on par with that Free Ajent story that took 20mins to tell in the chat a while back.

Laurence got a female listner to come over to his house. OH SNAP!!!!

If he were to pick 'em up at remotes or use the "I'm a radio host" at clubs and bars on his own time I'd say that's fair game. Not this asking callers/texters bullshit. This isn't the 1970s and 80s where shit like this was cool. Back then you were allowed to sexually harrass women in the workplace. Nobody cared or sued. Christ, it was encouraged.

He's 36. He works for a large media company. He puts himself and his employer at risk doing it on company time. Inviting strange women to your house whom you've never met is weird. So many things can go wrong.

I think this might be worse seeing he teased it for like 5 days! What made it even worse is he said she would post the story and if she didn't, he would. Still waiting for her to post it

No. Not everything.

Think about it from the self-respecting women that get his weird "Are you single. Wanna hang at my crib" texts from him and reject him. Think about how they feel. It's gotta freak you out. Maybe even scare you. Especially cuz he has your number now. Maybe he can get more info on you from having that. You don't know if he's stable. You don't know how he's gonna take the rejection. Good chance that somone that asks a complete stranger to their house might not be stable.

Nobody deserves to have these concerns and worries from just wanting to talk sports on the sports station. Nobody deserves to be freaked out like that. That's horrible.

It happens a million times every night in bars throughout this country.

I've had plenty of friends whose philosophy was to throw the net out on the water and take whatever swam into it.

Not the same thing. You're actually meeting them and you have the ability to size them up somewhat. Inviting a complete stranger that calls the Score to your house is different.
